Scotch Rubber Mastic Tape 2228 je přizpůsobivá samotavná pryžová elektroizolační a těsnící páska, která se skládá z etylen-propylenové pryže (EPR) potažené agresivním, teplotně stabilním tmelovým lepidlem. Tato páska je vyrobena o tloušťce 65 mil (1,65 mm) pro rychlé vytvoření aplikace. Je určen pro aplikace elektrické izolace a těsnění proti vlhkosti. Je to součást uznaná UL pro aplikace do 130C. Nabízí vynikající odolnost vůči vlhkosti a ultrafialovému záření a je určen pro vnitřní i venkovní aplikace vystavené povětrnostním vlivům. Lepicí páska Scotch Rubber Mastic Tape 2228 by měla být aplikována ve vrstvách s polovičním překrytím, dokud nedosáhnete požadovaného vytvoření izolace. Během aplikace pásku natáhněte na 3/4 její původní šířky, abyste dosáhli dobré přizpůsobivosti a utěsnění proti vlhkosti. Lepicí páska Scotch Rubber Mastic Tape 2228 by měla být kvůli mechanické ochraně obalena dvěma napůl překrytými vrstvami vinylové elektrické pásky Scotch Super 33+TM.

Not only for wiring

I used it to make downtube and chainstay protection on my mountain bike. Works very well, prevents chips and scratches, and looks cool if you line it up right. My only complaint is that it isn’t friction resistant at all. Had some brake housing and wanted to see if the tape could help prevent damage from the rubbing, wore right through the tape. TBH I wasn’t expecting much since it is fairly soft but I wanted to try anyway.

Silences your bike!

Bought this to keep the chain slap to a minimum. Put it on my chain stay and added some ridges. Really helped. Has been on more than a year and still looks good and quoted the bike down quite a bit. You can peel it off and clean it with goo gone if you need to.

I don't use shrink tubing any more on electrical connections

I almost always solder electrical connections and this stuff makes a waterproof seal and is easier to apply than shrink tubing. It seems to vulcanize to itself when wrapped and is rather hard to get off wiring when that is needed. That's OK, I want something that works well. I use it to also wrap some hose clamps for looks and to avoid chafing. Tons of uses so I carry it in my work truck and fun buggy. I just cut off a small strip, peel off the paper and stretch it before applying. EZ and effective.

Good Top Coating for Wiring

Used this to wrap wiring for a protective coating. This tape sticks and seals very well. It is pretty pricey though and do not go very far. It is a very good product without doubt. Will buy again if have a need for it.

Chainstay protector

Bike was already used so ignore the scratches. Used this as a chainstay on my girlfriend's Marlin 5. It's thick and feels like a peice of rubber. No doubts in my mind that it is sealed well and has great adhesion, also its practically impossible to pull it apart if it adhears to itself, which is what its made to do.

Bike chain guard

A tiny bit thick for this use but it works. Chain won't slap your frame and cause paint chips if you stick this stuff to the impact points. You could make about 15 chain guards for half the price of a single pre-cut one specifically designed for bikes.

Great for Bike Protection

Bought this to use on my mountain bikes for rock protection and chain guard slap. Works extremely well. Used in on both mountain bikes, and even my road bike. Its been holding up really well. I ride my bikes every day, so if it was gonna fail it would have shown its weakness by now. However so far, it all still looks great! Recommeded it to all my buddies. Much cheaper than buying the dedicated bike protectors!!

Real rubber tape

Don’t settle for off brands. This tape is self sealing, and makes for moisture proof electrical splices. The trick is to stretch it applying and wrapping. You will feel it get very tacky as you are wrapping. Press down all the edges. It makes for a pretty permanent seal. I ‘ve been using this brand tape on all electrical installations in marine applications and never had a failure.

Excellent quality

Bought this to protect my bike's chainstain and I've also used it to protect the cranks ends. It's very easy to apply and seems ideal for the job. Only put 4*due to the price (£24 for a roll).

Great for protecting against chainslap on my mountain bike

Great for protecting against chainslap on my mountain bike. Layer it up to make the chain quiet. Only thing is its extremely hard to remove the mastic from the paint. Just mushes around until you can get it all off. This is a MUST for anyone who rides downhill, bike parks ect.

Its Works!

I am sure it is used for other things but I bought it for use on my bicycles. Sticks well and is thick (one sided only). 3M/Scotch quality. Much easier to order from Amazon that to hunt for in the stores...
