AFW 7x7 Wire Braid Leader material 40lb

...this is a great solution to the problem of toothy bluefish breaking traditional fluorocarbon leaders & losing a nice lure. I was impressed how thin the 40lb braid is, and also how well a simple clinch knot holds. Haven't had a knot come undone yet. Takes a little trial & error to figure how many wraps work best for a knot. It can fray a little while tying a knot, which makes it a little more challenging, but over all, I'm real happy with this product & will buy it again.

Great leader material!

I used this for pike fishing in Wisconsin last season and it really improved my catch as I caught three nice pike the first time I used this stuff. Expensive but it really is thin and feels like regular line (loose and limp) - never have used anything this nice for leader material before - I'm a permanent fan now.

The best wire for fly fishing for pike

The best wire for fly fishing for pike. I have always used the 13-lb which is easily knottable. I have never had a bite off. Expensive but worth it. I have tried several other types of wire and this is easily the best. Must use wire cutters and not nippers or scissors. The 13-lb does not sink bass poppers.

Frayed ends hard to deal with

Once you cut the wire, the frayed ends strands separate themselves and difficult to pass the wire through small holes.

Will not hold a twist

May be in other applications but I like to twist seven strand wire directly to my hooks on the go, this wire unravels and un twists more than other brands.
