My cat decided to fall off the window sill and land on my original faucet that came with my 5-stage reverse osmosis system. It snapped a plastic part in the middle of the faucet base, rendering it useless. Don't worry, my cat was fine. In fact, he loved drinking water from it! Almost obsessively... and he was upset that I couldn't provide him with the filtered water anymore. Yes, cats are jerks. To make sure the owner of the house could have clean water again, I ordered my cat a new faucet. This one! I hated to spend the money, but I kept researching other options and I just didn't trust the cheaper brands, despite reviews. After all, I've had the original faucet for years, no problems. So, I bit the bullet and ordered this exact one here. After unboxing it, I noticed right away a few design differences that I didn't expect. The key one is that the neck no longer unscrewed from the base, which is where the original one broke off. This made me feel better that my cat won't break his faucet again. The faucet neck itself seemed a little different as well, angled more downward rather than a little angle. The only other real difference I could tell was the handle had a larger end, instead of just a straight bar. The finish on the original was a chrome and this one a more brushed stainless, which matched my kitchen better. Same sturdy metal feel otherwise. After install (which installed nearly identical as the original) and using it, there was one thing I noticed: It's quieter! Not sure what voodoo is at play here, but the "running water" sound of the original when on was like somebody hit the mute button. Otherwise, everything works just about the same. So yeah, but this. It's great. I suspect it will last longer than the original, looks better, it's quieter, the valve still feels solid and smooth, and my cat now has filtered water available. Thankfully, he hasn't figured out how to turn it on. His mind control tricks work great when his thirst is high, though. Obey your cats, because they are the greatest. Buy them this faucet.
