the best wood tongs ever

I bought this olive wood tong in Italy and loved it so much I wanted to give them as gifts. I was happy to find it online and everyone who I have given one to also loves it. the wood has a tight grain and is strong the spring hing gives you control over what you are picking up. I use it for the toaser oven all the time

Not a very practical kitchen tool

I like wood utensils. But I think this wood tong is not very practical as a kitchen tool. It is not flexible and hard to press down.

Stiff spring, otherwise a good product.

Only four stars as I found the spring on the tongs a little too stiff for my arthritic hands. My daughter enjoys them, however!

After utilizing this tong, although I prefer wooden cooking ...

After utilizing this tong, although I prefer wooden cooking tools, after washing, the spring within this piece has black rust that has stained the center part of the tong. Not sure how to keep the rust from continuing to stain the wood after every wash.

More handy than you might think

Okay these tongs take top space in my kitchen. They can be used for stirring, and picking things up and moving things over. They are very similar to chop sticks. When they are wet, you can use them to pick up coals. Very handy grilling tool too.

Great Product

This is an excellent product. I had a smaller one for years. It finally broke. This one is larger but works so good. I love it when using nonstick pans. Great product. Love it.

Not I was looking for...

The wood itself is good quality, but for what I need to use, the tip is way too huge to grab anything precisely. Also the food would stuck in the tip area and that is very hard to wash out! The top hinge part where connect the two pieces would turn blackish over the time.
