Great helmet

Great helmet in general but came with a cracked lens. It happens but they sent a new one quickly.

Solid hood for the money

I was issued this model hood at a previous job and used it day in and day out for 5 years with no issues. When I started a new job, I knew this was the hood I wanted. It’s a bit on the heavy side compared to my Optrel e680 but I adjusted to it. The “grind mode” is shade 4 which is what I use to torch cut with. The adjustments for sensitivity, shade and mode are simple and easy to use. The ratcheting headband is comfortable and seems of good quality. I haven’t dropped this one off a ladder yet, but if it’s anything like my old one, it will stand up to it.

Not made in USA!

It is lightweight and functions very well. My only complaint is that it is not made in the USA.

A solidly built helmet

This auto darkening helmet appears to be a quality built product. It has four dimming sensors, the switching speed is 1/10,000. The helmet is robustly built, so its expected that it will last, however its a bit heavy but as you use it, your head will adjust to the weight. The filter assembly appears solid and well built and I think this is what may have added to the weight of the helmet. I have used it and I am satisfied with its performance. I purchased an Antra helmet about a year ago and it stopped working and I only used it occasionally so I was really disappointed with the Antra. Based on the overall construction of the Jackson helmet and the reviews I read, I expect to get good performance. Once you start using these auto darkening helmets you wouldn’t want to go back to the traditional ones, though its always good to keep one in reserve. One other observation with the Jackson helmet is the mode buttons for weld/grind is on the underside of the helmet making it slightly awkward to change quickly from weld to grind and vice verse.

Works great

Works great just a little heavy weld for 9+ hours everyday but it's strong I don't fill iam going to brake it like the Chinese junk I have gotten in the past

Cheapest names brand with huge lens.

This is the cheapest named brand with a huge lens. I tried Lincoln, Hobart, 3m and some Chinese brands before. The Chinese ones are completely garbages that start not to auto-darken right after a few months. Lincoln looks cheap, but works well on the first year. Hobart looks very nice, but all the 2 I have tried were defective. 3m is ok just too expensive. This Jackson helmet looks very nice, works well by now. But u will have hard time when u replace the protecting glasses since the protecting glass holder is too tight. I will update if I find any defect.

Price for one in used, good condition was lower than for new helmet. Helmet I received is new, with all original info and correct packaging, unused. Excellent price , great helmet ! If it lasts as long as my other Jackson EQC, I'll be very happy. Had my choice of all ADF helmets, bought a Jackson again !
