Best Buckwheat Ever

Quality has significantly dropped
I have purchased three of these pillows over many many years. The first two were for my sister and I and we still have our original pillows from years ago. Love them. I ordered the pictured one above in December of 2021 to add to the house given we use them so much but the inner sleeve that holds the millet came apart at the seam and the millet has poured out. I’m not sure if it’s a Covid era issue but buyer beware and check your inner seams. The pillow is useless now. It should last 5 years to a decade, this one didn’t make it a year. I’d like the Bucky company to reply to this and stand by their product.

The Best So Far!
We like it better than most others we have tried. Customer service is hit and miss. Covers are expensive. They are $6.00 at Bed Bath & Beyond vs $22.00 from Bucky. The Bucky cases however are superior. We did buy a second pillow. However the maker would be smarter to give you a pillow with more fill or at least some extra fill material on the side to add more millet hull to the pillow. I am ok with it the way it is. My wife prefers more fill in the pillow. We bought a pound of millet hulls for $12.95 on Amazon to solve the problem. The maker should make note of these comments; I believe they would have more satisfied customers if the customer thought they were getting more for their money. 10/31/20 Update: I have found that by refilling the pillow with new hulls, 1.5 lbs seems to be about right. I have decided that it is easier to add more hulls than start from scratch. In the end it is just cheaper to by a new pillow which we have also done. I find that the Bucky pillow cases are well made and fit better than others; it pays to have spares. It does give me relief snd helps me sleep mostly pain free at night. It is the most comfortable pillow I own. I am upgrading to 5 stars due to the overall quality and comfort of this product after 3 years and now 3 pillows. Hope this helps.

Bucky is the Bomb!!!
Who would think a roll of a pillow made of buckwheat hulls would be a life saver! I used Bucky "as is" the first night and found that I had to take out some of the stuffing, as it was a bit hard for my taste. Easy to customize, as you just unzip the inside cover and scoop out what you don't need. From that night on, nothing but a wonderful, neck saving sleep. My neck pain is GONE! Seriously. I bought another one so I can have a back up, but I'll never sleep with any other pillow. I've had them all, believe me. I have a pillow graveyard in my closet. I'll burn all of the old ones now! I shape Bucky almost like a barbell - smaller in the middle for my neck and most of the stuffing to the sides. I'm a back sleeper so this supports my neck and I can gently turn my head to the left or the right with total, comfortable support. I can even sleep on my side with Bucky with just a little "puffing" up of the pillow. LOVE MY BUCKY!!

No inner liner
There is no inner liner therefore cover can not be removed and washed.

The only pillow that I use
I love this pillow so much! I have down pillows as well, but those are purely decorative now. I use this to sleep on my back and side, and I always feel supported. My boyfriend also loves it and tries to steal it from me, so I got him his own pillow for his birthday to keep him away from mine! It's small, so it's also perfect for bringing on a long plane ride (which I do regularly, since I can't use normal pillows anymore, after being spoiled by this one). The hulls do smell a bit like millet, but I like the grainy/earthy smell, and it's very faint. Also, the millet hulls are *much* quieter than buckwheat hulls. Getting the pillow form back into the case that it comes in after laundering the case can be a bit tricky, since the material of the pillow form feels very delicate, but I've had this for over a year and a half now, and so far I've had no issues. The only reason why I deduct a star is because I think the white pillowcase looks a bit cheap and it soils easily--I would replace it, but the dimensions of a pillow are not the standard neck roll size, so unless you make your own pillow case, you're kind of stuck with it.

Love this pillow!!!!!!!
I am on my third Bucky pillow over many years. It works beautifully to support my head and adjust to fit my neck. I use it as my day-to-day pillow and also travel with it. The easy to remove cover washes easily. I let it air dry and put it back in place. No issues.

My New BFF
I took it out of the package and have been treating it like my new favorite "blankie." It is smaller than some I've seen, which is perfect for an old whiplash victim like me. The other pillows can be too big to let my neck curve naturally. This is just about right. It is malleable, but only so far and it has substance and provides support. Last night when I used it for the first time I put in under the back of my neck. I had the strangest feeling of not wanting anything. I didn't want to adjust left or right. How I was, was just perfect. I am using it now as I type too. I felt a little foolish about spending $34 on it at the time. I don't regret the expenditure now. Update August 2, 2015: It should have more stuffing in it. But I still use it nightly.
