Great adjustable dumbbells for starting out.

These are great little adjustable dumbbells. I bought the 1 inch lock clips to keep the 1 inch plates on the dumbbells, and they are a little tight, but work well. Only like two of my plates fit on each end, but with 10 lb plates that gets me up to 40 lb, which is more than enough for me right now.

Renewed use for a set of old standard plates at a very fair price.

I needed a second set of dumbbells, as my wife takes ownership of my only set on workout days. Yes, I am not ashamed that I too reach for the 15lb and 20lb. Anyway, I have a nice old set of rubber bound stainless standard plates that happen to be just sitting around unused. These CAP Barbell dumbbell are well made, have a nice grip and work well with your favorite 1 inch quick release collars. I will admit that changing weight was/is a minor annoyance, but not to time consuming with the quick release collars

Could of been great, but bad QC

Could have been a 5 star review, but.... Overall it appears to be a good product. every 1" plate i have fit correctly. It does not come with the clamps, but it says that in the description. The grips are also comfortable. However, the quality control at this place must be awful. 1 of the handles was perfect, but the other had 2 chips in the paint. 1 of the chips was large and had developed enough rust that you can see it through the plastic protective cover. I would send it back and try for a better one, but i just don't feel like dealing with it. Instead, 2 star review for quality control issues. You can do better!

so far so good

Loaded up to 45 lbs on each handle so far and it was fine. Used snap collars that you can find everywhere on amazon, makes switching plates pretty fast. Spring collars also work for these. I paid $20 for this pair here on Amazon the week of 8/14/20 so try not to succumb to Corona fear and hang on if you can. These are available in large supermarkets (Meijer/Walmart/etc) for similar prices if you live near one. The manufacturer is still making them and putting them out there in the world. Good luck and get those gainz.

Just a regular dumbell handle

Works well with my existing dumbbells. However, it is worse than another pair that I have although it looks the same on the picture. My existing pair is made of blackened steel and it did not change its appearance in a few years I have owned it. But these ones look cheap. They are just painted black and the paint started chipping off where dumbbell plates touch it, after the first use.

Sturdy minus paint

Good weight, right size, feels nice and sturdy - but the paint already looks like it’s gonna be a royal mess when adding/removing weights or clips. The picture is what they looked like out of the box, before even using them.

Good product

CAP, works for the money. Dumbells are far too money to buy. If you have some standard (1") plates and some spring clips you're in business. One guy said his were hollow. Mine are certainly not hollow. I checked the weight. They are 2 pounds a piece. Some people spread disinformation to control the market. Personally, like the smooth ends better, because the threaded ones don't seem to work as well. The washers always seem to work loose.

Sturdy, knurling was good, but they’re supposed to be all chrome, so why did they have crappy silver paint on them that wore off, and got all over my hands for a while???

Does the trick

Wish they were a inch longer... but still a great product. They’d max out at about 60-70lbs a bar as I doubt I could fit 4 - 10lbs on each side and have enough room for the clip. Bought 2 pairs at the same time, one of the three handles was slightly “Sharper” so I reserve that one for lighter weights. Not a huge deal but noticeable.

Decent Dumbbells

For the price they are good. I've had 90lbs on one dumbbell with no issues. I even use the CAP barbell spring clamps to hold the weights on and they grip the bar quite well.
