Too thick

Its the perfect shade for me its just too thick and caked on if I put less I don't get enough coverage and if I put any more it looks really caked and bad... It just feels cheap to wear. I wouldn't recommend it, sorry.

Like a Serum Foundation But Better

Carter Beauty Half Measure Dewy Foundation This foundation is wonderful for dry skin. I don't have to do anything extra to get it to work. It offers almost full coverage and is best applied with fingertips or a synthetic brush. It wears really well and didn't start falling apart until after 8 hours of wear. I did order the wrong shade but I will order this again in the right shade which is Creme Brulee and that matches my normal foundation of Clinique Beyond Perfecting in Ivory (CN28). This is super comfortable to wear and looks wonderful without the normal "shiny" that can happen with dewy foundations. INGREDIENTS: Aqua, Decamethylcyclopentasiloxane, 1,3-Butylene glycol, Propylene Glycol, Phenyl Trimethicone, Silica, Cyclopentasiloxane & Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 dimethicone, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Sucrose Tetraisostearate, Nylon-12, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Phenoxyethanol, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Fragrance MAY CONTAIN (+/ -): Iron Oxide Black (CI77499), Iron Oxides (CI77491), Iron Oxides (CI77492), Titanium Dioxide (CI77891)

Was very excited

I was very excited to try this as the reviews are mostly positive. The color is a great match for me. Even though I knew it was light coverage, I was disappointed that this felt as though I might as well wear nothing at all. The bottle is the worst aspect. The second time I opened it, the foundation was too thick to squeeze out of the applicator. When I reinserted the applicator, all of the foundation inside the bottle puddles out of the bottle. No idea how this is supposed to be acceptable packaging.

Good coverage

I liked the foundation was hydrating and moisturizing to my skin and yet not oily. I chose the color sticky toffee. I believe the color is true to its name. I found the consistency pretty thick and smooth going on my face with my makeup sponge. I like it has good coverage. I felt that it was not heavy on my skin. I found it help cover my dark spot and flaws. My skin did not feel weighed down. My skin did not have that feeling of being greasy. I did use a setting powder after applying the liquid makeup. I found that the color stayed on and lasted all day. I shake it before using. I believe the dropper in the bottle is very good at limiting the flow of the makeup that comes out of the bottle. It comes out one drop at a time, this is due to the thickness of the product. I think that it is a nice design in helping to limit the waste of the product. I found that the makeup is comparable in price compared to others of this size. I have enclosed pictures so you can make a informed decision based on your own personal needs. Yes, I would recommend this product.

Really impractical serum type of packaging for foundation.

I thought maybe I could get away with the sticky toffee (only shade offered) as a summer “me with a tan” shade, but it’s just WAY too dark for me as anything work all over the face. I might be able to still blend it into ones too light or use in contouring, but I’m less likely to use it based on the color than any part of the product itself. I do purchase more expensive “dew skin” products regularly, so I was hoping this could be a more affordable version of dew skin BC for me, but it didn’t impress me enough in general to want to rebuy it in the lighter shade that might match me. I have pretty sensitive skin with breakouts from some soaps and detergents, and it didn’t make me break out at all. So it does seem sensitive skin friendly. There are no funky scents or scent issues. I slightly dislike the packaging on this for the product that it is. It’s in a serum type of packaging- so a glass bottle with a silicone cap and a glass dropper. Except the product is way thicker than any serum that you would ever buy. So the product is hard to suck up- like it took me a few tries to get the hang of it and I use other thin serums and essential oils and droppers all the time on the daily so it was 100% how weirdly thick this is to be paired with a dropper. Once in the dropper it was also a little hard to then dispense into your hand. It also makes a mess being dispensed this way, and then the cover that’s light pink ends up with brown foundation all over it when you close it. It took me three times washing hands to get it all off and I also had to clean up the bottle. I kept thinking it was just really unexpected way to package foundation, and not in a good way. It seems really inefficient to use it and transport it, and it’s so thick and sticky that it’s bound to leave a bunch of product all left unused all around the bottle unless you have a silicone beauty spatula to clean it out at the end. The glass is also impractical for travel or taking on the go in a makeup bag or purse. At the end of the day I would have preferred a packaging more in like with a squeeze bottle with pump top and that would have been faster, cleaner, and more portable. While I didn’t mind the consistency, scent, or coverage of the foundation, it didn’t win me over enough to want to buy it in a lighter shade for myself. Overall I’m underwhelmed by it.

Pick a shade or two lighter than normal.

If I could go back, I would probably choose a shade or two lighter than the one I got. Aside from me picking out the wrong color, I actually like this foundation. It feels really light weight and works wonderfully on my dry skin. It's not drying at all and doesn't emphasize my dry spots either. It lasted 8+ hours which is plenty for what I will ever need it for. It leave a light dewy finish which I appreciate because I don't like matte finish foundations. It has a light finish that's slightly buildable. The main issues with my skin is I have a lot of red so as long as that's covered I'm happy. The other thing I loved was that it did not cause any irritations or breakout which is always a plus.

the besttt

i bought this foundation because i needed a darker shade after getting tan & this is honestly the best foundation i’ve ever tried. it doesn’t transfer, it doesn’t look orange like most foundations ive tried, the formula is amazing & it blends so nicely, it’s sweat proof & it looks so so natural. it covers all my redness & acne beautifully. it’s definitely a foundation i would purchase again and again.
