Big bowl too big

I love Corelles, I own several dishes. They are nice enough looking, light weight, and can withstand some abuse. This set is no exception. The small bowls can be versatile, from breakfast cereal to small bowl of soup. However, the big bowl is an awkward size, too big for soup in my opinion. Probably if you eat salads as your main meal, this might work great.

Basically glass bowls

This Corelle MilkGlass 4-Piece Bowl Set comes well packed in a box with cardboard padding that all put in another box. Then Amazon may have their own box for that for that. So these arrived in perfect condition despite being glass. I saw Corelle and thought these would be more like their melamine like line where things are practically unbreakable and light. It is my fault for not reading more closely. These are just bright white glass bowls that are heavy. The big ones were what I was looking for making a big salad. The little bowls remind me of Asian rice bowls, I'm not sure I'll get much use out of those because they are so tiny and glass makes them fragile. A big part of the disappointment was my own fault for not looking more closely before ordering, but I wouldn't pay the Corelle premium for plain white glass bowls.

nice design and look

I like the large bowls, they are great for soups and small salads. The smaller bowls are about the size of what I would use as rice bowls. I do wish they just went with all four of the large bowls or all four small bowls. Just getting one set of 2 large, 2 small bowls is not enough for our family of three. The design is simple but nice, I love the rounded look of the bowls. This is tempered glass, so don't be mistaken, this is not the Corelle with unbreakable material. We do have a set of Corelle unbreakable ones and honestly I rarely drop them anyway, it is just nice knowing if I ever do accidentally drop them chances are they'll survive the drop. This set doesn't have that, so immediately I just feel a little worried. It was my fault for not looking at the material carefully, although I am aware that Corelle makes their dinnerware with other material that are breakable. It is just that when you hear the name Corelle you immediately think, unbreakable dinnerware! I am still happy with the quality and look of these bowls and still recommend these if you are looking for this look and design.

They have flat bottom - do not have raised base

Good looking. However I’m surprised these bowls have flat surface on the bottom - this makes them impossible to grip when boiling hot soup is filled. Also, one of the bowl as pictured does not have an even top, it’s oval shaped

Very nice bowl set!

I like this bowl set a lot! It is very nice looking and will be the perfect size for me to use for my salads, or serving veggies or chips with dips. The single reason I gave it only 4 stars is because it feels so fragile. I think the price is a bit high for what it is.

Awesome!!

I have to say that I did not expect these bigger bowls to be as big as they are!! I love it!! My husband and I actually love eating cereal and we go through quite a lot of it. My husband is the kind of person who can't just have a regular size bowl though. He wants the biggest one in the house. The one that will take the entire box of cereal or at least over half of it. You should have seen his eyes when I opened the box of these bowls!!! The box contains 4 in all - 2 of the huge ones and 2 that are actually the perfect size for when you have ice cream. I put my hand in one of the pictures so you can get a grasp of the size difference between the two. Now, I grew up watching my mom using nothing but Correlle cookware. She always said how much she loved them and I should always remember to be careful with them and not use on a stovetop. Needless to say, you can depend on these to last for a very, very long time. They are very dependable, durable, and easy to clean. I love this set of bowls and would highly recommend them to anyone. They would be a fantastic gift idea for anyone as well. Definitely worth the 5 stars if not more!!

match my White set

I have various Corelle dinnerware including dinner plates, salad plates, 28oz soup bowl (the deep style), regular cereal bowls, serving platter, rectangle and round serving bowls, dessert plates. Most of mine are all white. This set says it is milk glass but I don't notice much difference from the white pattern corelle. I love the size of these little bowls. They are perfect for a scoop of ice cream, or my kids cereal or a bowl of oatmeal. Also nice to use just as a snack bowl. They are of the same quality all of my Corelle pieces are. I have only ever chipped the rim of one of my bowls and never broken any. I have 3 sons under age 8 and they get lots of use and get tossed into the sink (NOT carefully) more frequently than I would like and haven't broken one yet. The large serving bowls in this set are also great because they are deep. I have the square and round serving bowls already, but they are shorter and wider. These deep bowls are great for more liquid things that slosh out of the shorter serving bowls more easily, I do wish they came with storage lids for leftovers. I have only purchased lids for my 28oz bowls, not the serving pieces I own. But I am going to be on the lookout for lids for this set.

Great Addition to Existing Corelle Sets

With this product you are getting exactly what you see, 2 12oz bowls and 2 46oz bowls that are plain white and can be used with any of your existing Corelle sets. It should be noted that if you have older Corelle sets (20+ years old) that they don't make the same durability claims, they are shatter resistant (not shatter proof) and can not be placed in the oven. Other than that my only real complaint is that I would have preferred to get a set with 4 of both sizes as with only 2 you can blow through using both pretty quickly, especially if you don't live alone. However, for the price this set is fantastic as the last time I saw the large bowl in a store (happens infrequently) it was $10 for a single 46oz bowl so for the $18 of this set 9at time of review) you are basically getting the two small bowls for the price of the two larger bowls.
