OK if you don't mind the distressed look
I was a bit wary as one of the previous reviews stated that these were not real Frye boots, and the company name seemed different. But these are indeed, boots from The Fry Company: Frye and Co. is simply another brand from them (as per Frye's own website). The mauve color is confusingly named and in real life is a red toned brown, or an almost but not-quite-there burgundy color. Very pretty, but most definitely Not Mauve. The comfort was about what I expect from a 2.5 inch heel, OK to walk in for short distances but not something to wear for a marathon. There isn't memory foam or special padding in the insole, so BYOI (bring your own insert) for more comfort. The leather quality of these boots though, was the deal-breaker for me. I have several pairs of Frye boots and shoes in smooth leathers, nubuck leathers and suedes but this leather is terrible in comparison. It is very dry to the touch and even taking the inserts out of the boots caused wrinkling in the boot that did not go away. I hate to think what these will look like after wearing them for any amount of time. It would become distressed looking very quickly and I was not looking for that aesthetic. If the boots had better quality leather, or I had different tastes, this would have been a hit.

I actually really like these
I have bought Frye products for years but with Covid my budget dramatically changed. I needed black boots and saw these on Amazon, yes, they're Frye and Co. Basically Frye's budget line and I have to tell you, there is a slight difference in quality between my other Frye boots but these are really comfortable. They are a little stiff and will need to be broken in but the first time I wore them I had them on for 7 hours and not a single issue. No blisters, no sore feet. I am usually a 9 in boots but I bought an 8.5 because I don't like wearing socks and they were perfect.

Frye generally superior...
I did not like the material; it appeared worn. The bottom of these boots were not clean, so I returned them. Unfortunately someone else must have Tried them on. I did however purchase 2 other Frye pair (different material) in the same timeframe and I love them both.

The BEST black bootie
This is the best black bootie for your money. Frye fits true to size. This material is great for all seasons. I just wish we had more places to go so I could wear my boots more.

Good choice for winter wear
I didn't realize that they were suede when I ordered them, but that's nothing that a little waterproofing can't handle.
