Capezio Transition Dance Tights

Love the Capezio brand for tight. I was happy to find these available here as our local dance store does not carry the black. The tight are durable and can be used several times if properly cared for.

Recieved the #1816 style with elastic waist. NOT the #1916 with the soft knit waist.

elastic waistband

These were pretty much what I expected, but the waistband is described 3 different ways on the product page. the actual product description now clearly says 1 inch elastic waistband although that is not what the picture shows. Scrolling down to the Capezio branding, the waistband is described as elastic free and in another place as plush elastic. These tights have the old fashioned band with the embroidered brand name. I didn't think I would care that much, but my middle is a bit softer than it was last time I danced so it pinches a bit more than I would like. I have ordered the soft waist band directly from the company. for reference, I'm 5'3, 128 pounds and ordered a L/XL. The material is soft and feels as durable as all other capezio tights I had 20 years ago when I was in the studio a lot. The convertible bottom doesn't seem to be likely to bunch when I'm in demi pointe.

Great fit - XXL for tall ladies

Thank goodness for Capezio - these matte semi-opaque tights in XXL are the only tights that fit my 5’10” height! They suck everything in and feel great.

Got 1 opened package and 1 in original

So if I were going to review the item, it's 4 stars. Capezio are decent tights and the required ones for my daughter's dance. We go through a lot of them. This order however we ordered 2 pairs....1 came in original packaging and one came in a baggie. That one had tears all over, inthe crouch, down the legs etc and weren't even the right tights. For the order itself I would give 2 stars. What the heck Amazon?

Not so soft

I was a bit disappointed with these. The waistband is the stiff elastic kind, rather than the more modern knit kind. This would be less annoying if the inside of the waistband was brushed, (bodywrappers does this) but it's just the elastic and stitching so it feels quite scratchy on bare skin. The waistband is also just a bit too tight, while the legs are super long. I'm only 5'3" so I'm very much used to a bit of extra length, but this felt excessive compared to other brands I've worn. Overall, there's nothing wrong with these tights - they're a good basic to have on hand in case your preferred kind catches a run 20 minutes before curtain. I just wouldn't choose them as my go-to.

Fit true to size and don’t ladder too easily

I stick to this brand as they do last longer. Shame I can’t seem to get in packs of 3 anymore. Only negative is I find is the colour does fade with washes.

New Comfy Waistband, different color.

New fabric waistband is fantastic! Color more tan than the caramel in the hold & stretch series, but is ok when my skin is tanned in summer. They are very soft and more opaque than other Capezio tights.
