Nice pants - but not as nice as most Columbia pants

I got these in a 14 in black and returned them. I'm 5'4" and 195 lbs. My hips are 45", and my waist is 39". They fit very tight, but I later realized I needed a 16, and felt kinda cheap compared to other Columbia pants.

Love elastic in the waistband

I ordered both a size 12 and 14, and since I prefer a more relaxed fit kept the size 14. I'm 5' 9", 155 lbs and carry most of my weight in my hips and waist. I love having elastic in the back of the waist band as my torso is pear-shaped rather than apple-shaped. I ordered the nocturnal color and I'm finding it a bit difficult to find tops to coordinate. It's a blend of a blue and gray that is a bit unusual. I also wish they had belt loops. The front zippered pockets are in an odd location and I doubt I will ever use them. They would not make the pants very flattering. I do appreciate the ability to roll them up into capris. I'm planning to take them on an upcoming work travel trip and I'm hoping that they will suffice for air travel, birding, and attending at least one day of the meetings.

Size up

I don't like the elastic on the back of the waist. These run small and they aren't water resistant after a few washes. Don't think I'll purchase these again.

Great Columbia pants

I own quite a few Columbia pants. They are universal. I wear them to work, going out, hiking, etc. one thing to know about this particular style is that it’s best for curvy ladies (think hip/waist ratio). Otherwise it will dig into your mid-section. These work great for me, my waist is 34, and hips are 45, so a pretty significant difference. I got it in my usual size 12 first but waist was too tight, so I got size 14. 14 works much better. So just keep that in mind.

I ordered my size and a size larger. Had to return both as they were too tight.

Sizes are off

Could not keep this item. Sizes are off. I am usually size 10, but after reading the reviews stating that these pants run small, I ordered a size 12. It was very tight at the waist. I ordered a 14, which was very baggy. Returned both. Quality seems fine though.

Perfect fit on smaller size

I had read the reviews and ordered one size smaller- 4 (while my waist is 30in) and it fits perfectly! Slightly snug at the glutes but can be hidden with a longer top I guess. The length is long as with any pants, will alter. But a great fabric and can’t wait for my next hike!
