Gorgeous pattern and colors, durable material
This is a really nice backpack. As you can see, it comes folded down to a very small sized and packed into it's own pocket. So that should make it apparent that this is not a sturdy, structured backpack. It's very pliable and flexible. However, because it's a small/mid-size bag that you would like only use for a day trip, it doesn't really require structure. I think it's PERFECT to throw into your suitcase for a trip where you expect to be spending the day away from your lodging. It packs down really small to go in your luggage, but takes away the need to lug a purse along with you when out and about. That said, I don't think I'll ever be able to get it packed down to the size it was when I received it. It was a challenge getting it UNpacked, so I think I would just fold it in fourths and toss it my luggage that way. If you are purchasing it with the hopes of folding it down into the super compact size it arrives in, you may be disappointed. I'm not saying it's impossible, I just think it would be difficult and frustrating. The fabric of this backpack seems to be very strong and sturdy. It has the large main pocket, a front exterior pocket, and a hanging interior pocket (which is technically the pocket that it fits into when fully collapsed and folded down). The only thing I don't love is that the pocket it comes in has a permanent "sticker" on it that shows a drawing of the bag and the brand on it. It seems like that would have been better if put on a hangtag that could be cut off. Once you own the item, that glaring image on the white background is entirely unnecessary. I think the backpack is really nice and the colors are beautiful. However, I also absolutely think you are paying for the Vera Bradley name. There's no reason this bag needs to be above $30, and I think that difference in price is what you are paying for the name. However, I would imagine that the Vera Bradley name will also help it to hold its value a bit, so if you are a VB fan, it may be worth the full price (currently at $45). p.s. As you can see from my photos, it is kitten approved. :)

Great for vacation overflow, beach or farmers markets
I got this because I am traveling more and more and wanted something that was light weight, compact but could expand to carry items if needed. And this fits the bill. This is a light weight backpack that comes folded up, so it is easy to pack and travel with. However if you are expecting the normal Vera Bradley fabric, then you will be very disappointed- this is their new line that is more like parachute material, that is light weight and water resistant. The bag itself is nice and holds a decent amount. But because of the lightweight / folding aspect, there isn’t a lot of structure/ support to it, so don’t expect to use it like you would a normal backpack for school, work, or hiking. This would be better for suites for beach days - to hold swim suits, blankets, towels, etc. Or for when you need a quick bag when you realize that your bought to many souvenirs on your trip and need another bag to put things into. And we usually use it when we go to the farmers markets - we can keep it folded up and if we buy something, we have a bag to put it into to. Overall - love it. It’s lightweight, and easy to pack and store away without taking up a lot of space. However if you are wanting her normal fabric, look elsewhere - this is more like a parachute than the cotton. And it is great to take to the beach since it is water resistant.

Keep one in your diaper bag
Super cute backpack, folds up very small and weighs almost nothing. Gets uncomfortable quick though as the cheap straps dig into your arms. Wouldn’t have given it such a high rating except for the fact that I used it while traveling, my baby got sick and vomited all over himself, shoes and everything included. I was able to change him but then had to lug the thing around, full of his dirty clothes and shoes, for 3 hours before I got home to wash it all. It completely contained the wretched smell the entire time. I was shocked!! Got home, rinsed it in the sink, threw it in the wash and next day it was good as new. Wouldn’t necessarily use this as a “wet bag” but boy did it do a fabulous job at containing bad smells! I love finding a product that can be useful to parents of young kids, knowing you always have to be prepared for one type of accident or another. May not have been the use it was intended for but it definitely saved my day!

Durable and Light Travel Backpack
As someone who travels a lot, I really like this backpack. The print is gorgeous and the material is sturdy and durable. It's great to take on a vacation for use on day trips when you need something to carry your stuff in. When I travel to Europe with my husband, we often take sightseeing trips into the city for the day and take a backpack for carring some snacks, jacket, umbrella, and anything we buy while there. Some other reviewers said they thought the material was thin, but I disagree. I have several "travel" backpacks that are made out of a thinner material. The fabric in this Vera Bradley one is much more durable and stronger and waterproof. It easily opens and can be easily put back into a pouch. It also has a zipper pocket in the front. I do think the price point is high and that you are paying for the Vera Bradley name. Other than that, I would definitely recommend.
