nice looking

It really looks nice, even though ours is in a high traffic area in the middle of two rooms because of our remodeling. That is causing it to scuff up pretty quickly, but frankly, for the price, I'll just replace it if it starts looking ratty. You might not have that problem at all if it's in a corner of a room like most are.

Love them!

I like these for the bathrooms as I don't want the metal louvers due to the moisture. Seems strong enough for just over 200 or more pounds cause we both tried stepping on it. I like that the louver open and close tab is smaller and a lower profile than some of the others we have. I want mine open all the time, so I just taped the underside of the tab to keep it there when I vacuum. The louvre is attached to the brass top with tabs not screws, and are so secure I didn't want to try to pull them apart just to see if I could. The top will scratch, but that's true of all the types of registers I have had in the past. These are a great deal so if they last long enough for us to get the urge to change the pattern again, they will have served us well.

Attractive brass. Very poorly designed plastic diffuser.

The brass finish is very attractive and seems to be of good quality. However, the diffuser is plastic and is flat and so adds a significant amount of noise as half of the air hits the plastic at 90 degrees. It has no fins or way to direct air flow, it's simply on or off, and due to the construction it can only be 50% open at max, so in addition to excess noise you lose a good amount of air flow. If you really like the design (and I do), it might be worth trying to replace the entire diffuser piece (it's just plastic that snaps on) with a real one and find a way to attach it.

These are great looking grates

These are great looking grates, but note that they have almost a warm gray tinge to them, rather than a sharper gray of stainless steel, so they don't quite match the appliances in my kitchen. My bad for not noticing they were nickel, so I figure it's a good idea to warn others. The design is beautiful and reminds me of Frank Lloyd Wright!

Looks nicer in the photo

In a way I was surprised because I assumed that metal was metal and this would be a nice piece .. but in a way I'm not surprised because it was very inexpensive. I definitely would have been angry if I paid more for it. It's not a nice piece of metal. It's kinda junky. Like when you get something that's plastic and you think, "yeah, this was made in China". It's like that. It's like it was made in China. Mine came scratched in a couple places ... which isn't a big deal cuz it's going on the floor in a corner where we'll rarely see it. So three stars ... it looks good from across the room and it fit just fine ... but it's not the best quality.

???????? Actual metal ???????? Only one corner in this entire design of 90° angles was rough cut and required a little bit of filing out ——————————- ????????Vent/registers package came opened with.. ????????Dirty construction material fingerprints all over the vent cover but cleaned up well.
