This piece is exactly what I was looking for!
Thankyou so much for a great product! I'm a character in the musique scene named Dr. Vermilion, and our goal is to create audio that is mind thrilling and unique, with a medical theme to it. Since my character represents 1500's this item was an awesome prop addition! Thankyou! -Dr. Vermilion M.D. Memoryecho.com

A nifty piece of home decor to give your room that extra je ne sais quoi
Meet Terrence. He is a former HMS Bounty Mutineer, now compelled to spend eternity watching over my bedroom with a clock in his mouth. Ah, cruel fate. At least nothing can shock a sea-farer, the salty old dog. He joins the infamous Kyle upon the bookshelf, where they exchange ideas ad infinitum (though Terrence mainly makes pithy observations about the time.) At least i never feel lonely, now that I have my two boys to talk to and people can stop giving me strange look as though I were talking to myself. Ha! ** This is a great clock. It's actually lighter in weight than I would have anticipated; however, I do not consider this a drawback. The clock itself seems to be a little on the cheap side - a very lightweight plastic composition. Since i just received it, I can't (obviously) speak to its durability. However, it doesn't look cheap, which is nice. It's easy to extract the clock (which is held in by three metallic prongs) in order to change the single AA battery required for its continued time-keeping. A little plastic dial allows you to adjust the time so that it is accurate (or inaccurate, if you're like me, and just like everything to be 10 minutes fast.) The pros: a fun piece for your home, seems reasonably well-made. The cons: Feels a little flimsy for the price tag. Overall, it's a handsome piece, a nice addition to your creepy curios collection or just as an augmentation to Halloween decor fun.

Love my Skull
This large skull (about 7" tall) has a dark gold and slightly sparkly finish. The eye sockets and other recesses are nicely antiqued in black. Feels solid at around 2 pounds. I don't even care that it opens up to reveal a clock, but it's a welcome hidden feature. The clock is powered by a standard battery-powered movement you'd find in a wall clock. There are two compartments inside the jaw base. The clock fits in the large one (clock is easily removable to change the battery or if you care to deploy it elsewhere) and a smaller compartment behind the teeth. You can use it to hide something from plain sight. A man's watch will fit the larger compartment, a set of keys in the smaller one.

skull replica
A decorative skull replica, both Momento Mori, and housing a hide-away clock. It looks like it would be at home in a classic library or den, or as a decoration for this month of October. The skull is fairly solid, but not as heavy as it looks (and smaller than an adult human skull). The cracks and features are reasonably realistic. The whole thing is lacquered with a bronze patina. The first few times I picked it up, it left a faint smell as of oil paint on my hands. It fits reasonably well in my one hand (male, size L/XL gloves), so could be called upon to fill the role of Yorick for you theater types. The top of the skull opens to reveal the clock, and goes back far enough to touch the surface the skull is resting on. The clock is actually my least favorite part of the piece: it looks a little cheap, sometimes pops out of place when I open the skull, and I really don't have much use for analog clocks these days. But remove the clock, and you have a small keepsake spot. I originally started buying Design Toscano pieces (gargoyles) in pre-internet days. Even then I was struck by their efforts at faithful reproductions, at a time when online comparison wasn't yet an option. I'm glad to see they are still around, and still producing interesting pieces. Recommended, especially for this month of October!

Feels weighty and very good quality.
Gorgeous robust skull feels really good quality. It weighs just under 1kg (2lbs) and that gives it an expensive feeling - nothing like a bit of weight. The clock is hidden inside the lower mandible and is a little disappointing. The clock itself looks really nice and is very appropriate to the style of the skull, but the bezel that holds the clock face in the jaw is plastic when it could have been metal. The quartz movement is the standard plastic one seen in most clocks so no surprise there. A single AA battery is required to run it. I have to say it's a lovely piece and ideal for any goth or ghoul or eccentric in your life. Maybe a tad overpriced, but I'd be happy to get it in my stocking.

Nice skull, shame about the clock
Holding it up to my own bonce this looks a little smaller than life-size (or hey - maybe its a kid's skull?), but it's still near enough that it looks quite impressive as a paperweight. A black undercoat with gold dry-brushed highlights gives the skull a curiously glam and gaudy feel. If there is a disappointment here, it's that the quality of the clock inside is pretty poor - with its plastic (instead of glass) front and the decorative face consisting of flat printed colour paper, it really looks like bargain basement tat, which is a shame given the price. That said, when closed, the gentle ticking from inside the skull is a nice reminder of the seconds of your own life ticking by, and the inevitable approach of death, so may provide a helpful motivational boost to make the most of what time you have left! You can also prise the clock out (which you need to do to insert the AA battery) - so another option is simply to bin it, and use the space within as a small storage space. An interesting and offbeat item, just a shame about the tatty plastic clock.

Horrible, wonderful, desirable, tat; depending on your point of view
Stunningly ugly memento mori skull with unsatisfactorily cheap clock, it both underwhelms and over delivers. As an artifact, it's a cheap lump of badly designed tat. As a breathtakingly horrible and proudly vile object d'horror it's a majestic triumph of ironic design over tangible reality. Personally I think it's wonderful. It lives on my desk as the most horribly vile and ridiculous paper weight, and I love it.
