New Light Makes our Dining Room Look Great

We had the same light in our previous home, so when we bought our new one (previously owned), we changed out the old, dated fixture for this one. Very happy with the purchase. This light is a great value and a quality fixture.

Changing lightbulbs proves to be a challenge

This was purchased for a family room remodel into a craftsman style room. The actual installation of the light was very typical for ceiling lights and installed without an issue. However installing the glass globe presented a very real challenge. The globe is held in place by four thumbscrews around the outside rim. You can't just loosen the screws to remove the globe - you have to take them all the way out. It is a real "treat" to stand on a ladder, hold the globe with one hand and find the holes to replace the thumbscrews with the other without losing the globe. Thank goodness I used LED bulbs so I won't have to do that again for a very long time. On the positive side, the tinted globe puts out a soft slightly yellow glow that fits the room décor perfectly and provides exactly the look we wanted.

Good product with Superior Amazon Delivery

Amazon took more care in delivery of this product than UPS. How's that for a headline? Here's what happened; I bought two of these and a Designers Fountain 82186-WM Mission Ridge 6 Light Chandelier on the same order. Amazon broke it up into three shipments. One of the surface mounted lights was shipped from Coppell Texas by Amazon and delivered by Amazon's own delivery service. The other one was shipped by Amazon from Livonia Michigan via UPS. When the UPS box showed up on 7/6/18 it had been crushed and punctured and but for the excellent protection the manufacturer provided for the glass dome it would have broken. The next day the second light was delivered by Amazon's own delivery service, and the box was in perfect condition without a scratch, dent or puncture. This speaks very well for the in-house delivery system Amazon has developed and I am continually looking to Amazon as my first shopping source because of outcomes like the one reported herein. With respect to this product, there is some room for improvement in the design. Specifically this fixture comes with two slotted screw attachments and that is fine. The other option is to provide it with the center hole supported from a a threaded pipe. If you've installed light fixtures before you'll understand what I described. Either mounting technique works but the issue comes up in mounting the dome. They provide the fasteners and the dome is attached at the pre-installed threaded receivers. However this means that the trim details that you can see in the product picture may not be squared in the opening. Had this fixture used the center hole mounting process the fixture could be rotated to the desired position. In my case that's an issue and I will have to modify the outer trim ring to make it align as required for my application. I give this product four stars because it is in fact well made and they took great care to develop good protective packaging that survived the gorillas at UPS and but for the alignment issue it would be a five star review. Amazon, can I give you six stars for Superior Delivery?

Love this!

I got a couple different styles of these for my kitchen and dining room (sconce & semi-flush mount, and they have many other types), and just love them, the look is perfect for my home!! The glass softens the light, so there's no glare or anything, but it doesn't make it darker. These are all quality light fixtures, solid, well made, no flaws or anything. They're a bit pricey, but they look good! They all came packaged very well, so no damage during shipping. They were as easy to hang as any other light fixture, I do appreciate that the wires were stripped, so I didn't have to do that, a little thing, but a nice touch! Highly recommend and would buy again!!

Great looking METAL fixture

Very nice fixture, and the frame looks like wood but is not wood like the product description says. Make sure you are aware of this before you order it.

Love this ceiling light fixture

We bought this particular light fixture as it is similar to our dining room fixture, which we purchased from the same company. We love that it ties in well with our decor. It is nice and bright with the 60 watt led bulbs we use with it. The one thing we dislike is how awkward it was to install the glass dome. It took the two of us to install it, one holding the glass dome while the other attached the wires in the ceiling. Aligning the screws to hold the dome was awkward to install.

Beautiful once installed

Just what we wanted. Love the style. Difficult to install. The insulation in the base make it very difficult to find the screws to fit it to the ceiling.
