Pretty nice light. Terrible installation instructions

The light is pretty nice for the price but parts are really cheap and installation instructions are terrible. Hard to understand. They should use step by step illustrated directions. It would make hanging this fixture much quicker. Bottom line... you get what you pay for.

If you have no metal working experience this is not your fixture

The Designers Fountain Montego Oil Rubbed Bronze 96931-ORB fixture is a decent looking light fixture for a reasonable price you think --- until you receive it. While we received it on schedule that is a function of Amazon getting things done. This product is not what it is indicated on the web page- read on if you are considering a purchase. What it is- a three light fixture accepting three medium base Type A bulbs either incandescent up to 100 watt, CFL, or LED. It is a hanging fixture with 3 feet of chain and adequate electrical wire to make the necessary connections. WHAT IT IS NOT- the off shore applied oil rubbed bronze finish is actually poorly applied BLACK spray paint with runs and debris in the paint. It is not well made so I invested 8.5 hours painting and rebuilding it so it could resemble the photo. 1. I spent $12 for spray paint to prime it and paint it a color that resembled oil rubbed bronze. 2. The three metal arms coming down to the glass bowl were all different lengths- one touched the glass as in the photo, the others had gaps of 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch. I had to shorten the spacer tube (not shown in the manufacturer's photo) 5/16" with a hack saw and adjust (bend the arms) to get all of them to meet the glass shade. The finial cap under the glass shade (last item under the glass shade) was not threaded properly to screw onto the threaded nipple (fortunately I already owned a tap and die set and could do this work). If you have no experience in metal working this is not the fixture for you. In the end, after a drive to Home Depot for $12 worth of paint and 8.5 hours of my time to rebuild a hurriedly made poor quality offshore light fixture we have a new light over the kitchen table.

Beautiful light at a good price but HORRIBLE assembly

This is a beautiful light but with one big con, the assembly. It arrived in wonderful shape the metal was not bent and the dome is pure ceramic or so it feels. The instructions seemed simple enough. I am an average homeowner with a sufficient amount of electrical wire experience. The light comes with 30 feet of cord so don't worry about that. It took me 3 weeks to finally hang this light up and it is STILL a home job look. The instructions are not clear how it is possible to reach in the ceiling, wire the lights to this while holding the light up, screw it on the mounting bracket and feed the wires through the bracket, and finally put the canvas over all of the wiring. It is extremely challenging. I now have it mounted in my kitchen with 3 100 watt CFL fluorescent light bulbs and it puts out plenty of light. Also an important note is if light color is important for the room you are lighting, the dome of this is sort of a yellowish tint so even if you have the whitest lights, the color of the ceramic glass will alter the color a little bit. Not dramatic but noticable. Also the design of the bowl will naturally collect dust over time as opposed to another design light. If you can get past the assembly, it is a very pretty light but good luck getting it up!

Difficult install

Mounted on the ceiling in the stairwell to 2nd floor - should have 2 people and a special ladder for mounting. Instructions are a bit vague - needs chain length adjustments. Solid hardware.

Pretty lamp but difficult to install

This lamp was exactly what I was looking for but when it came time to install, things just weren't right with it. We had to have our son come over and do some modifications so that the metal prongs would actually rest on the shade and not have an unsightly gap. It took some work. If he couldn't have fixed it, we would have had to send it back. Very disappointing.

Looks very very good, and it was easy to install

Looks very very good, and it was easy to install. The only thing I don't like is that the three arms do not touch the glass, or even come close, they are about an inch above. They should be closer giving the illusion of touch and unity of the pieces, and there is no way to adjust that without trying to bend the nearly unbendable arms.

Attractive but not the highest quality

I made my living as an electrician but as a senior I found these fixtures really tough to assemble/hang without a few cusses. Inexpensively made but a decent overall value. Once hung, they look extremely nice.

Light's fine, but unfortunately

Light's fine, but unfortunately, we need to swag the chain. (Can't someone after so many years of those things invent something more attractive?) Not the easiest install for me; fishing the cords was no walk in the park and the directions were minimal, small print and blurry. Very cool styrofoam packing.
