The Captain Loved It!

I wasn't sure what to expect from the mixed reviews. Wasn't sure If this would fit a child or be too large/ good or bad quality- the reviews were all over the place- but the price seemed fair and I had a need for this :) We just came back from a 10 day cruise. We dressed our son and daughter in sailor costumes for the formal night Captain's Party. The hat that originally came with my son's costume was lousy quality- so I wanted something better and hoped this would do the trick. It sure did! This is exactly what I wanted- its perfect! My son JUST turned 9 (birthday cruise)- it fit him perfectly. The hat is completely adjustable, so it would fit many ages and sizes. The captain and officers sure got a kick out of their costumes! The kids enjoyed lots of comments all night from fellow cruisers. My husband and I wore navy colored formal wear that matched nicely. We were able to get some great family portraits and even some great photos with the captain too- such great memories! Overall: great quality, great adjustable fit, great price- I highly recommend!

Great value for the price

Completely pleased with our hats! We had an ocean/underwater birthday for my 3-year-old, complete with snorkel gear, whale cake, and a giant submarine made of cardboard. He’s >99th percentile and the hat fit him perfectly without adjusting. We moved the strap over two notches for our 5-year-old, and there’s plenty of room to grow or to allow bigger kids to play too. I got them less than six bucks apiece. My boys have been wearing them almost every day since we got them 3 weeks ago, so I feel we’ve already gotten our money’s worth. And they seem well made—no loose strings, no sloppy stitching, and they have held up to two rambunctious preschoolers without complaint. I expect we’ll have these awhile!

Child-sized hat is cute

I love the look of this, the quality is good, too. It is child-sized, so an adult wouldn't be able to wear it unless it was not hooked in back.

Perfect for the little skipper!

My 2 year old grandson recently began going out on our sail boat and putting around the harbor in the dinghy. We bought him this hat and it was an instant hit! The fit was good, the style perfect for him to play Captain, and he wears it all the time now. He's had it just over three months now and it's wearing well.

Three years ago today I made the biggest error in judgement a father can make when I let my 8 year son chart a 40 ft cabin cruiser all by himself around the Cape Prince of Wales. Well I've never been the disciplinerian, and he just wouldn't stop trying to make himself pass out at the yacht dealership by holding his breath and well... The coast guard said the vessel broke nearly clean in half when it hit that container ship. Apparently it was the night of the 2014 Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards, and my little guy had been below deck enjoying the festivities on sattelite television, Mark Wahlberg was hosting that year, and was not aware of the impending ship's emergency horns. He would have been 12 this summer.

ALMOST a captain.

Arrrrg matey! Oh wait, that's a different hat. I`ve never been a ship's captain but I`m convinced this makes me feel exactly like one would feel if I knew what it was like to be one. Minus a star because it does say "child" and this will only fit a child with an unusually large head. My apologies to the parents of the big headed kid this actually fits.

Not quality item

Bought for my grandson for summer and very disappointed with quality. The inside rim of the hat is not attached properly and always shows. Even though label said 100% cotton some cheap foam sown under cotton fabric. Boy’s head gets soaking wet in minutes.
