Strong smell and no labeling of pieces

Pros: Needed a small toy chest for my grandchildren's board games/card games. Great size for intended use. Strong enough for my 7 yo granddaughter to sit on, for short periods. Well packaged. No dents, scratches or dings in any of the pieces. Larger screws into threaded locking cam nut is nice. The lid does close softly, great for little fingers not getting smashed. Cons: Unbelievably strong smell. Do not know if it is a polyurethane coating used or some agent to preserve the paint but it will bring tears to your eyes. Should gas out within a few days. There are only a few pieces to assemble, a couple of which already have the dowel pins in place; however, none of the pieces are marked with the appropriate letter as marked in the assembly instructions. The blown out views of each step allows for self-explanatory assembly but for those not as savvy, might find this difficult (I assembled this while watching an episode of The Office with my husband. An extra set of hands will be handy when attaching the safety hinge.) No extra hardware included. Do not like this at all. So if there is stripped threading, you will be one less screw/lock cam nut. Also, if over time, one becomes loose or faulty, do not have replacement screws, especially those anchoring the safety hinge, which brings me to my next point. The lid does not open near as far as I would like. I did not expect it to open completely but it's restriction is less than ideal, as is the amount of room required for the safety hinge when the lid is closed. I am also wondering about the longevity of the safety hinge but time will only tell with that. I got this when it was on sale for $39 so although there are complaints, I feel ok with what I spent. Had I paid full price, would be less than happy. Overall, was looking for a small sized toy chest - delivered. Enough room to fit board games - delivered. Easy to assemble (for me) - delivered. No damage to pieces and no chipped paint - delivered.

Best Ever for Child

This is the best ever toy box for small child. The lid opens easily and won't close on those little fingers. It's just the right size for a child's room, I decorated the top with my grandson's name and some of his favorite animals. He loves looking inside to see his toys. I highly recommend if you're looking for a toy box. I will add pictures once I determine why my photos are black.

Great toy box

We bought this over the Melissa & Doug one I liked that is twice the cost. We "cycle" toys so we didn't really need a huge toybox anyway. I'm glad we got this one instead. It was easy to assemble, is very sturdy, and it has plenty of room for the 10-15 toys we keep out at a time. Highly recommend!

Everything came in the package , I thought It was bigger but it’s a decent size for kids toys , smaller toys fit there , I love the color too , if your looking for a big toy box this isn’t it , it’s smaller than how it looks on the picture

Instructions unclear

So overall this is a very nice toy chest but on a certain part of the instructions are a bit unclear and I attached a part incorrectly and it tore off the inside of the chest wood.

Broken not worth the money

Had it up about a week and my daughter goes in it and it’s broke the assembly of this toy box wasn’t accurate and the spring to hold the lid up wasn’t camapatable with the line up to screw the screws in so unhappy as this cost me £50 and now unsafe for my child !

Awesome Toy Box

Toy box very sturdy and heavy exceeded my expectations, lid doesn't drop, so no pinched fingers. Highly recommend it. Cons: it had a very strong chemical smell, which took a few days to dissipate.
