Známá podrážka, výrazné detaily stehů a elegantní kožená konstrukce zdokonalují tento ikonický oxford. Dr. Martens je součástí legend. Vše začalo nedaleko Mnichova v Německu v roce 1945, kdy si Dr. Klaus Maertens poranil nohu při nehodě na lyžích v bavorských Alpách. Pro usnadnění chůze během procesu hojení navrhl botu se vzduchovou podrážkou. Pomocí starých gumových pneumatik zkonstruoval podrážky, které měly vzduch zachycený v uzavřených odděleních. Svůj prototyp ukázal svému příteli inženýrovi/vynálezci, Dr. Herbertu Funckovi, a společně se rozhodli vyvinout a vyrobit boty. Nejenže bota vyřešila bezprostřední problém lékaře, ale navíc se začala dobře prodávat v Německu. V roce 1959 se oba rozhodli, že potřebují společnost na výrobu a distribuci bot, tehdy nazývaná Dr. Maertens, v jiných částech světa. Zpočátku mnoho výrobců odmítlo koncept podrážky se vzduchovým odpružením jako krátkodobý trik. Společnost R. Griggs Group se sídlem ve vesnici Wollaston v Anglii se však rozhodla jít s myšlenkou a vytvořit první pracovní botu s revoluční podrážkou. Prvního dubna 1960 byla vyrobena první třešňově červená pracovní bota s osmi očky a pojmenována 1460. Aby se značka lépe prodávala v Anglii, bylo jméno poangličtěno na Dr. Martens. Řada byla označena AirWair a zbytek je historie.

Modern throwback/ Size down a half size

Purchasing shoes online is always a toss up. I am very particular with the fit of the shoe and almost always try to avoid the "clown feet" or "squashed" look. I am a true 5.5/35.5 US. In some designer shoes, I wear 36 EU/3 UK/36 IT. Based on reviews I went with the 5 M/3 UK and they fit PERFECT, so I would have to say that these run about a half size large. In terms of construction, I found the patent leather to be an upgraded modern throwback to the 90's, well built and stiff. The toe of the shoe is also less round and more "almond" than what I remember. There is a break-in period, but I feel these shoes are worth it as they compliment and elevate any outfit.

good buy.

very comfortable. I had a pair of Dupree before and they were too narrow even after broken in for a year. These are still slightly narrower than the original style but very comfortable. I can wear them to work, it is part slightly formal and part cool. The patent leather is a bit softer than the smooth leather to start with, still need to be broken in.

it's like second skin

it was hard to break in, but once you do, it's like second skin, super comfy and looks stylish, super stylish, the soles are great too.

These shoes are amazing! I’d been wanting them for awhile and I’m so happy I finally got them! They definitely do run big though. I have the Dr. Martens soft leather original boots in a size 6 and normally wear a 6 in other shoes as well. I first ordered these in a 6 and they were so big my heel slipped out of them with each step, so I got the size 5 instead. They are definitely tight, but I know that they’ll stretch a little and form to my foot as I break them in.

Half insole

The insole only covers the back half of the sole. There’s just hard plastic (not even a covering) under the toes and ball of the foot. It also didn’t have a Dr. Martens box.

Doc Martens always deliver

The shoes are fantastic as always. It took a while to ship and the carrier (Fed Ex) left the package on teh front steps (where anyone could see it).

Looks awesome - runs small

I would recommend sizing down : I am usually a 6 in women's shoes, and I tried another model of the 1461 in a store and found that the 6 is a little big, so I took the plunge and ordered the 5 online, which fits just fine, if just a little bit tight. I worked in this pair 3 full days and had very little discomfort. The toe of this pair is a little bit pointier than the non-patent 1461's, which I love. It gives a less clowny look and is just a little bit dressier. I would definitely buy again.

Por fin son míos!

Los llevo codiciando casi un año. Son preciosos y robustos. Los he comprado un pelín estrechos a sabiendas: mi pié es pequeño y cuadrado. Normalmente uso una 37 de la que me sobra la punta, por comodidad, pero estos zapatos pesan y cuando se den de sí no quiero ir chancleteando con zapatones. Que no mola. Así que he comprado una 36 que me aprieta un pelín en él empeine pero de largo es perfecto. Por si ayuda a alguien.

la scarpa è perfetta, niente altro da dire. quanto alla spedizione ho inizialmente ricevuto un modello errato ma il venditore è stato estremamente corretto e solerte nell organizzare il recupero del pacco e nell invio del modello giusto.

Bien sûr elles sont magnifiques , bien faites, classes Par contre pour celles qui n'ont pas l'habitude, sachez que les Dr Martens taillent un peu grand et comme elles se "font" il ne faut pas hésiter à prendre une demi pointure en dessous . Un dernier conseil, les premiers jours mettez les à la maison quelques temps ; il vaut mieux éviter de partir à l'aventure une journée entière avec des doc neuves au risque de rentrer avec quelques ampoules !! Mais après quel bonheur !
