V 80. letech boty 8065 postavily na hlavu tradici nepraktické dámské obuvi. Spojení klasického zapínání na T-tyč s robustní podrážkou AirWair, dobře našlapaná silueta zůstává oblíbená dodnes. Tato edice zůstává věrná původní konstrukci s houževnatou kůží Smooth a typickým žlutým prošíváním. Dr. Martens je součástí legend. Vše začalo nedaleko Mnichova v Německu v roce 1945, kdy si Dr. Klaus Maertens poranil nohu při nehodě na lyžích v bavorských Alpách. Pro usnadnění chůze během procesu hojení navrhl botu se vzduchovou podrážkou. Pomocí starých gumových pneumatik zkonstruoval podrážky, které měly vzduch zachycený v uzavřených odděleních. Svůj prototyp ukázal svému příteli inženýrovi/vynálezci, Dr. Herbertu Funckovi, a společně se rozhodli vyvinout a vyrobit boty. Nejenže bota vyřešila bezprostřední problém lékaře, ale navíc se začala dobře prodávat v Německu. V roce 1959 se oba rozhodli, že potřebují společnost na výrobu a distribuci bot, tehdy nazývaná Dr. Maertens, v jiných částech světa. Zpočátku mnoho výrobců odmítlo koncept podrážky se vzduchovým odpružením jako krátkodobý trik. Společnost R. Griggs Group se sídlem ve vesnici Wollaston v Anglii se však rozhodla jít s myšlenkou a vytvořit první pracovní botu s revoluční podrážkou. Prvního dubna 1960 byla vyrobena první třešňově červená pracovní bota s osmi očky a pojmenována 1460. Aby se značka lépe prodávala v Anglii, bylo jméno poangličtěno na Dr. Martens. Řada byla označena AirWair a zbytek je historie.

Dr Marten Quality????

Tip: use a thin coating of Vaseline on the straps to aid undoing the straps as the leather softens. Great shoes???????? Update: I have been wearing these everyday to break them in. These are easier to break in than say leather boots. I would suggest wearing 2 pairs of soft dress socks to break in. I did notice when I wore a coarse weave sock it irritated the back of my heel. The softer socks do not. I taped a small peice of foam on top of my foots arch to prevent bruising during break in period. Very happy with my purchase, lots of compliments. Wife says: Love this style. Has the Dr Marten quality build. Will update the review after a few weeks. Real sole stitching! Not like fake glued on soles with stitches. Runs slightly large as these are made to be worn with socks. I have a "saint toe" and theres plenty of room in the shoe for my weird long 2nd toe lol!????????

very cute but very uncomfortable

These shoes are adorable and i’m sure they will last a long time! however, they are extremely uncomfortable. Even after trying to break them in, they are very painful on the top of my feet. And i know i’m wearing the right size since other reviews said they were true to size. Maybe I just need to break them in more or wear thicker socks?

Shoe of memories past

These are the cutest and studious shoes I have ever wore. As most Doc Martins the shoe is on the heaver side (soles) and that because of the Doc Martin history. Originally use as combat books. I have received many complament already. They were super easy to break in. I gave the comfort a 9 only because they have yet completely softened. I remember in Grammer school having these same shoe. I love the cut out allowing you to wear socks that will complete the matching outfit look with out it being to much. I strongly recommend these shoes. I have 2 other Doc.Martins and although I love them all, these are always the ones I chose!!

Beautiful shoes, but run large

Look beautiful, great Quality and lovely details and leather. Only complaint is that they run large, at least 1/2 a size too big.

Excellent choice

I found the size came up small after reading other reviews I went for my size 5 but had to exchange for a size 6! Leather very stiff initially needs wearing in - buckles different to use and heals did rub but comfortable from day one to wear and walk in.

Genuine shoes, great for work or school.

Genuine Dr Martens and the same great quality you would expect. As usual they are a generous size so they are a little bit too big for my feet as they are slim but a gel heel grip works wonders. They do need quite a bit of breaking in but a hairdryer, some fluffy socks and some patience softens them up.

Great Dr Martens but maybe not for people with wide feet

Love the design. Great Dr Martens as they always are. I had real trouble buckling them up for the first few times!! The leather was tight and I couldn't get the buckle into the right hole myself - I definitely felt like a bit of a child having to get help doing my shoes up!
