TAKE NOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This does NOT turn the lights ON it DOES turn the lights OFF after being manually turned on!!!!! I made this mistake and will be returning it! I dont believe that is made clear enough! Overall the sensor works exactly like it is designed to do. My lack of 5 stars has to do with the wiring! If you have a 3 pole switch and think this will be an easy swap in you are in for a surprise! Both switches will need to be rewired to make this function properly. The nightlight is a wonderful feature I just wish that this switch would operate how a lot of others do where you have the option to switch the mode. I also wish they were priced the same or they were an sold together so others wont make the same mistake I did!

Works as advertised, but read the small print

This switch works exactly as described. Compared to other motion sense switches, I think it is the most attractive, and has a neat night light feature as well. However, I totally bought the wrong product, and I wouldn't be surprised if many others make the same mistake. The item I meant to buy is the OS310U model. This one is nearly identical with the exception that it is designed only to turn the switch off after motion is no longer sensed in the room and DOES NOT turn the switch on when entering the room. It's hard to imagine why one would want a switch limited in this way especially considering the OS310U can act in this mode as well as the mode most people would expect of a motion sense switch. Read the description carefully before buying. You probably want OS310U.

Great solution for kids bathroom

This switch was easy to install, but does require a hot, neutral, and ground at the box you are working on. This would not work where a switch was just breaking a hot wire only. Can be used for 3 way as well. I found it simple to install. Also features a built in nightlight. It would not change my opinon to buy or not buy this item with or with out the nightlight. Has 3 settings for 5,10, or 15 minutes of vacancy before turning off. This switch must be manually turned on and will turn off on its own after inactivity in the area. The application for us is to shut the light off in the kids bathroom automatically. Call it lazy, but I was tired of being the one to have to go downstairs and switch it night after night after night. -Abe (Arian's husband)

Good automatic light switch.

Good sensitivity for an automatic light switch. The on time can vary some if you stay in the room and it is repeatedly reactivated (this is separate and distinct from the "on time" setting in the switch). The GE switch does better for this one aspect, but the price is higher. (hence 4 stars) I shall purchase this switch again.

Works as advertised BUT BEWARE....

This sale "page" is for the Vacancy model, hence the VS in the model number. Yet the description is for the Occupancy model! Their part numbers are close but not the same. The occupancy model is OS310U-BK SAVANT. Be sure to order EXACTLY what you need, the vacancy model (MANUAL ON, AUTOMATIC OFF) can not be switch to occupancy mode (AUTO ON & AUTO OFF). I found this out the hard way, I needed both models but went by the description and not the part numbers. Both models working fine, in their correct usage/locations.

Installed 2 switches and began figuring out how to set the motion activation. To my aggravation, I figured out it's not motion activated to turn on, only off, which is stupid in my opinion. Very misleading product description.

This is the manual turn on device. very disappointed. wanted the motion control one. You need to manually turn this switch on and then it uses motion after that but you need to hit the switch to activate it each time. If you want a true motion switch make sure you order the Cooper OS310U switch.

Never worry about lights left on again

I use this motion switch for my storage building lights as there are no windows and I can't see if the light was left on with the door closed. Works great and helps lower the electric bill.
