I bought a great metallic spray paint, and a thick viscosity glue that said it glued anything. Wow, what a pain! After carefully spraying it, letting it dry a day, getting up on a ladder and attempting to glue and hold it in place long enough for it to set... well, the glue didn't work, so I got Elmer's wood glue, which worked well. I held it together with some Velcro straps for a day, and got back up there to place. It looks terrible, as the seam is so obvious. I ran some glue into the seam and let it dry, but it still looks bad. Don't buy this medallion option if you don't want it to look like crap, because you're just going to have to take the wiring all apart and do it right with a newly purchased medallion. Yuk, and wasted $$ and time on this. I thought about spraying it again, now that it's up, but It'll likely end up in ruining the ceiling paint and the light fixture plate, even in an attempt to cover those areas prior to painting. The medallion is a good idea that doesn't work. Someone should invent one that is a flexible material, seam on one side, and 2 little slide latches on the bottom to close tight and hide a single seam.

I haven't used this. It actually wasn't what I wanted. It was to cover a hole from a large ceiling fan to a smaller one.

Really easy to paint

I hope to install this soon. What I can say at this point is that it took spray paint exceptionally well! It is going to be easy to install and it's super light weight.

While the design on this medalion is quite lovely the "split" option is very crudely cut. I would not recommend purchasing this item split and will be returning.
