Appreciate this Freud brand drill bit and its claims about "fast clean holes" and "flat bottom holes." It was fine for my project. Nothing special. It's just a drill bit, not much else to say about it.

It cuts like butter and doesn't lead to breakout of edges on the other side of the material when cutting.

Clean, sharp & accurate holes

There’s no comparing these fine bits to the cheap Chinese knock-offs that have flooded the market. The Freud forstner bits are worth the investment. You could spend more, but honestly, I wouldn’t know why. I only wish the shanks were longer so I could bore deeper holes.

Superior consumer priced forstner bit

The 1 1/8” Freud bit I received is WAY better than any other consumer/hobbyist priced bit I’ve ever used. I’m very pleased with this brand and bit. Definitely will be buying Freud products in the future.

Smooth hole

I was very impressed with the finish of the hole. Even with my ham handed technique, drilling straight into veneered, finished wood, the hole edging on the front side was nearly perfect. I can see why people like these forstner bits, and Freud is always making high quality cutting tools. I just wish it was a whole set, instead of just one bit, but maybe that's down the road.

Clean cutting, accurate

Used this to cut holes in kitchen countertops for sprayers and soap dispensers. Cuts a clean accurate hole through laminate, and wood.

Super sharp and clean cuts

This is a must buy. I've tried cheaper forstners by Ryobi and Maximum brand by Canadian Tire. This Freud forstner makes those look like children's accessories. I get super clean pencil sharpener like shavings from it while the others cut like they are doing slowly shredding the wood

Quality

This is how all tools should be made. I had bought some Mastercraft bits onsale and they were pure junk. These cut quickly in comparison and make a nice smooth hole. High recommend, even though these cost significantly more that other bits.
