My GE dryer gtpd520edoww would turn on but not start. I read common reasons for this to occur and started at the basic level power supply cord. Then i opened this bad boy up and saw the belt was broken so i changed it out. The dryer would still wouldn't start so then i had to take this bad boy apart. There are a few screws to remove the motor casing to access this part. I was easy to install but you have to make sure the motor pully is correctly touching this part when you put the motor casing back in and that was a bitch. You will hear a clicking. After three attempts to aline it correctly, bam i did it. Once I put everything back together it turned right on. My husband looked at me and laughed as i did a joyful dance. Shoving in his face i fixed the dryer.

Fixed my dryer without having to buy a new one!

One fine day, the drum in my GE dryer stopped tumbling and spinning. My next immediate thought was having to spend $700 on a new one. Then I thought, surely there must be some way to fix it, without having to rely on a technician who will charge a $150 fee to "diagnose" or without spending upwards of $500 on a new one. I looked up some youtube videos, took the dryer apart and found the culprit at the bottom of the dryer floor - a broken belt, which had given up after years of spinning and fatigue. I quickly looked up the part number, ordered a new belt and installed it. My excitement turned into disappointment, when the drum refused to tumble again. I looked up more videos and some suggested that the interlock switch tends to fail when the dryer belt snaps. So I ordered this part from Amazon and thanks to 1 day shipping, it was delivered in no time. I spent no time in installing the switch, put the dryer back together, said a little prayer to the dryer Gods and pressed the start button! It was working again! In this process, I found out that dryers are not very complex appliances and if you show a little patience, you will end up fixing the problem in less than 40 bucks. Tip: If you end up replacing a broken belt and that does not fix the problem, more often than not, its due to the failure of this little switch.

Perfect fit. Buy 2.

Works as expected. Replaced on my 17 yr old dishwasher and it’s running like a champ against. Pro tip - buy 2 because if one fails the other won’t be far behind. Bought one a year ago and now the other switch failed. Both replacements worked great.
