Decent little leaf blower for the money

I received this today. After some confusion about the charger- it indicated a full charge out of the box but the battery lasted only 10 minutes, and when I put it back in the charger it still showed a full charge. A call to customer service and a little patience and I have a fully charged battery. Apparently the fully charged indicator lights changed to charging while I was on the phone to Greenworks. So, I resumed my leaf blowing without a problem. The charger is light weight and can be hung on the wall. it charges pretty fast- less than the 75 minutes the manuals stated. As for the battery, it is interchangeable with a number of Greenworks products that use a 40 volt nominal power source. So, if I want a Greenworks weed whacker, I only have to buy the tool, and then I can use this battery in it. They also offer chain saws, lawn mowers, and other tools using thiss power source. The unit is lightweight, comfortable in hand, and does the job well. It isn't that quiet, though. The manual recommends hearing protection. As for power, you're out of luck if you want to clear a fallen tree off your driveway, but for its intended use it's just fine. I had concerns about buying Greenworks products as I bought an electric chipper/shredder a few years back which failed after less than two seasons- a broken switch- which they couldn't provide a replacement part for. It's still sitting in my garage. It worked OK but I would have expected a nearly $200 (then) machine to hold up better. Someday I'll fix it or get electrocuted trying. At his price, the leaf blower is disposable. and expectations shouldn't be that high. I have noted the problems Canadian customers have had with ordering a battery for this unit, and complaints of unresponsive customer service. I didn't experience problems with customer service but I sure would be torqued if I were sold a tool that I couldn't get a battery for (note, you can buy a tool without a battery,, so a battery if needed for replacement or additional reserve power would be needed). Canadian customers also note that the interchangeability of the batteries isn't there as promised, so buyers beware!

Fantastic blower

Wow this tool sure makes leaf blowing easy. I like the versatility this tool allows. I also purchased the hedge trimmer from the same company and I use the battery in both. The products work extremely well and were worth the money. I will purchase from them again.

Works for my yard

I like that I can hold it without getting tired for the life of the battery. Quick charging is a plus so I don’t need two batteries. Finally this literally has enough power to blow the leaves that collect behind my shed!

Considering it being a lightweight blower and small size, this product definitely gets the job done.

I purchased this blower in addition to recently purchasing the Greenworks 40V 24" Cordless Hedge Trimmer. This blower works great! It's lightweight and really llike the variable speed and cruise control control functions. Both products got the job done quickly and efficiently. I can also see how the USB port on the battery pack can come in handy. I definitely recommend this purchase.

15.5m runtime & ~1.5hr charge on 2.5Ah battery

Bought this to replace my old 20v blower. I wouldn’t say this is twice as good, but it definitely pushes more air. It is also decently louder (which makes some sense). 2.5Ah battery gave me ~15.5m on full blast with a noticeable change in sound starting around 13.5m (voltage dropping). Only negative so far is that listing made me think I’d be getting the battery with a usb port on it. That was not the case Even though the housing looks like it could/should have had usb.

Good Value for the Money

Caught this blower on sale and it has lived up to its brand reputation. It has a lot of blowing power and is comparable to my gas powered blower attachment. I also like the luxury of the battery being interchangeable with other Greenworks products. I definitely recommend this unit.

Durability

I've had this blower for 41/2 years and use it at least weekly, sometimes more often. I have a small yard which has an eddy from the prevailing wind, so a fair amount of debris accumulates. It has been reliable up until now but the finger switch now is getting troublesome. I will replace with the same product. Cordless and lightweight makes up for any shortness of power. Switches are always the first thing to fail in any appliance.

Doesn't use batteries that are sold in Canada

This unit uses the GMAX batteries that are not sold in the Canadian marked. I contacted Greenworks support and thats what they told me. Kind of brutal, because i'm stuck with this thing that does absolutely nothing at all.

This item uses GMAX batteries not MAX. Unfortunately the lister just copies and paste without knowing.

The Greenworks 40V battery which is supposed to fit all 40V Greenworks products didn't fit. As a result the product is valueless
