I've always used the Black and Decker processor but decided to give this one a try because it had a stronger motor, larger capacity and was a great price. I use my food processor heavily, at least once a week and chop vegetables, cooked meats, etc and make large batches. I tend to push them beyond what they are really designed to do. This heavy use means that I buy a new one about once a year so I'd say that I really put these to the test. Overall, I like this processor so much better than what I was using, with only one complaint. I'll list the pros and cons: PROS: -Very powerful. I noticed a difference right off the bat with this one. It makes short work of even a large batch and can handle doughy, thick textures very well. Unlike my old processors, this one never overheats, it doesn't break a sweat with anything I throw at it. -Sturdy design of the blade and shaft. This processer uses stronger, thicker plastic for the blade and turning shaft. With my old processors, they would always develop cracks in the turn shaft but this one is inherently stronger by design and the plastic seems much more dense and less brittle. I think this one will go a lot longer than the year I've been getting out of the others. -Sharp -and I mean sharp-blade. Do handle it with care, pay attention to where your fingers are whenever you have this in your hand for cleaning or any other reason. It will slice right through skin if you touch it. That is one of the things that's good about it though because it does puree foods very well. With my old processors, I always worried that the thin, wimpy blade would break off while it was running - scary. No worries with this one, it is stout and sharp! -Suction cups on bottom. They are very high quality, it clings to the counter really well. Some reviewers complained about it but I think it's wonderful. Nice that I don't have to stand there bracing it the whole time it's running to keep it from going for a walk. Given how powerful this is, I think it would be all over the counter without the suction cups. Great feature. -Compact for storage. Some processors have a giant food chute sticking out of the front and that makes storage a constant pain. This has a very compact profile for a large capacity processor and the longer I have this, the more I appreciate this about it. -Attractive, like the black color. Because I use this so much, I have it out in the kitchen. The black color makes it less obvious. My old processor was just plain ugly. This one looks about like a coffee pot and takes up just a little more space. -Noise? I find it very reasonable for what it is. Some reviewers have complained that it's noisy, but I find that ALL good food processors make noise. Expecting a heavy-duty machine to be quiet is kind of like looking for a quiet chainsaw - it just goes with the territory. For a heavy duty processor, the noise is not bad at all. It's not a little blender, folks. The one CON: - I have one complaint about it. The claim that it's a 10 cup capacity is a bit of a fib. The bowl holds that much, yes, but the center of the spindle is much lower than the sides and it does not seal at the top. So if you fill the bowl all the way, the food will leak out of the center, down the shaft and make a big old mess. The more liquid you have, the bigger the mess will be. It has a fill line on the bowl, but don't believe it - you can fill to the top of the shaft in the middle and that's it. So for practical purposes, this is more of a 9 cup processor. I was disappointed in that but it is still a bigger batch than anything else that's available and the powerful motor and design make it better than anything else I've used. I do notice the difference even with a nine cup batch since my old ones barely handled eight. I hope that future designs will address this since I think the motor can handle 10 just fine if they will make the center a little taller. Overall, this is by far the best processor I've ever had. It's going to outlast the others too, I can tell already. You can't beat the price, I'm getting every penny's worth already. When this one finally wears out, I'll be wanting another of the same to replace it. I see no reason to spend more on a different brand, this beats all. If you are kind of rough on a processor and need one with more gusto, this is it.
