Great ice fishing rod.

Decent Ice Rod

This is a decent ice fishing rod for the money. It has a nice cork grip and a good screw down/locking reel seat instead of those graphite rings that are always slipping off. It is equipped with very large, oversized eyes and tip to combat ice buildup. My only complaint is that eye and hook keeper attachment is a bit shoddy, ie mediocre wraps and excessive finish. On one of the two rods I purchased, I had to break away excess finish from the hook keeper so I could use it. There is also excessive finish on a couple of the eye wraps, which doesn't hinder function at all, just indicates little if any quality control. But hey, worth the asking price and fully functional. I use my two rods for rainbows and char in the 14-20" range and haven't had any problems. Would be a bit heavy for panfish, get the light version for that application.
