I've wanted these boots for a while and finally picked up a pair
I tried this model boot on at my local Rural King for the first time, about 2 years ago. I fell in love with the cushioning compared to my Red Wing boots and my Thorogood uniform boots. I just never could seem to justify spending the extra cash when I had plenty of shoes and boots around the house that still had a lot of life left. Well, a couple of years went by and it was finally time to pull the trigger on these. The leather is high quality, quite thick, and soaked in the Dr. Martens conditioner that I put on them. They got a little darker after conditioning and brushing them out but they still look amazing. The boots come with leather 53" laces and they seem to be quite high quality. I'll most likely replace them with the same laces when the time comes. The eyelets look like they're really good quality and the laces slide through them with ease. The tongue is thick and is centered in both boots (surprisingly not always the case in other boots I've owned). The stitching on the tongue is crisp and clean and there weren't any loose ends on the pair I ordered. The stitching around the sole is also of excellent quality and looks like it will hold up for quite a while. The soles of these boots are quite soft and I think that will make for a much more comfortable wearing period. They can be replaced from what I've seen. The insoles are also removable if you want to add in a pair of custom insoles or the Red Wing powerstep insoles would make a great addition to create even more comfort. I haven' thad the chance to try out an actual storm in these boots but the in-house waterproof testing (a.k.a. spraying them with the nozzle of my sink) suggests that they will hold up a little while to water especially after treating them with the conditioner.

Decent boots
I got these on sale at 89.99. Took a good week to break in (45hrs installing cabinets) overall there were a few minor issues with the boots. Left boots fits a little tight, some of the stitching had defects and the eyelets weren’t pressed in correctly but I smashed them with some pliers. For 100$ die some Irish setter which I plan on beating up at work they are worth the money. Only in 2 months tho

Similar but different than last batch.
No longer made in usa, and no longer having the redwing label, instead having the shield irish setter label. Tongues almost symmetrical. Ok boot. Last version was better. Lasted a few months as a dry stone mason.

Great shoes.
The build quality is great. I would normally buy red wing or Canada West boot but these were on sale and I could not turn down the price. Very happy. Comfy as heck!!!! Fits a bit big but insoles solved that.

These boots are made for walking...
Great fitting boot, I have bought the aluminum toe as well and it fits just the same. I got this boot for your everyday walk around shoes that's how comfortable these boots are... I would like to give an update after 3 years of continuous wearing, the bottom of the soles are still in great shape, yes there is wear on the treads but still lots of meat left in the soles. The inner sole has your typical wear and tear and with the outer leather it's still in mint shape...I changed out the laces right from the start as I found that they would come undone on me a lot... As for the work boots with the aluminum toe they are again in great shape for the amount of use they get as an Ironworker on the steel and welding, soles are in great shape!!! BEST BOOTS I'VE WORE FOR WORK AND LENGTH OF QUALITY OF BOOT!!!
