Worked fine for me - no adjustments needed

I was hesitant to buy this carburetor for an older mower engine when I could throw in another $100 and by a nice used one but this was going on a '90 era Snapper rear engine mower with a 6.5HP B&S Magnetron engine that my mother loved. So I bought it. I will say that the choke had me baffled for a bit. Not so much on the carb itself but on this engine it used some paper clip looking connector that more or less just sat in a bracket on the motor - and when you opened the throttle wide open it would move a lever to catch the paper clip type end to move it. A better design would be to buy a choke cable and mount it separately. At any rate after installing it which took about an hour fiddling with the hookups and watching a youtube video, the mower started on the 3rd pull and now starts instantly. I'm not sure if I received a return unit or not but I did not get a gasket with mine resulting in the 4 star rating.

Exact replacement

This carburetor is an exact replacement for the thirty-year-old specimen on my mower, which had worn throttle shaft bores and a bad air leak that made the engine surge and stumble. If you install this carburetor yourself, do not overlook the idle and high-speed mixture adjustments that are called for in the engine service manual; neither is likely to be exactly right for your engine since the carburetor is made to fit numerous models.

Perfect Replacement

This carburetor was an exact match for my B&S 8 HP which is on a mid 80s snapper riding mower. Perfect fit! It’s running better than it ever has.

counterfit part

I ordered this because it was advertised as original equipment briggs and Stratton part. The only thing oe about it was the box it had been repackaged and shipped in. The item was a cheap Chinese knock off part that was not even machined correctly. I am still waiting for a refund as of the 18th of August. The refund was listed as delivered on 8-5-2020. I am becoming disgusted over this fake part and the lack of service3 by amazon. Be careful about what you purchase.

Perfect fit

Saved my 27 year old Toro Wheel Horse 8-32. Only adjustment made was for idle. Starts and runs great now!
