Invaluble Tool

These rulers are invaluable. This is the third one that I own. I use them for forensic investigations. There are rulers in a roll that detach from the holder and can be leaned against the wall and remain erect. The numbers and markings are big and bold and easily viewed and photographed.

Must have for any investigator

This measuring tape is a must have for any one that needs to take measurements and photos of those measurements. It’s thicker and sturdier than a normal measuring tape, it has large easy to read numbers that show up in photos much better than normal measuring tapes. It can come out of the holder and be used as a yard stick. It can stand up on its own because it doesn’t self retract. It is absolutely amazing for anyone needing to take measurements and photograph those measurements.

Super Convenient

Great for checking grades. If you know you're going to be dealing in grade changes of 6 feet or less, this thing is really better than a regular grading rod, just because it's small, light, and easy to manage.

Essential tool for ANY forensic discipline:

This device makes the task of triangulating/locating and documenting evidence at an event scene simple and the characteristics of the device make it perfect for including that data in still and video image captures. The baility to remove the tapes from their case (and reinsert when done) provides great utility.

Good for investigative photos

Works great, no need to press anything for tape to stay in place, shows up in photos clearly. May need to manuver it when windy to get accurate reading, but does the job. Only thing I would complain about is that using it mon-fri for a year in mid atlantic weather, it will rust and eventually snap in half, but that is expected (I've had to submerge it in a pool of salt water on multiple occasions). I've had police investigators ask me where to purchase one to use for their investigation photos

Absolutely Necessary Forensic Tool

This steel tape is an absolute necessity in my forensic investigator's tool box. The versatility allows the tape to be completely removed from the hard plastic container and then the tape can be reinsert for storage. The tape is flexible, but possession sufficient stiffness to stand upright without flexing over. When measuring, the numbers are significantly legible to be photographed from a distance or close up. I have used Pocket Rods for over 15 years and highly recommend this product.

Easy quick for inspections

I use it for inspections of riprap install. It is nice to pull out and lay on rocks for a photo. Also useful to lay on ground if using a drone for overhead photos.
