Good for stovetop cooking

Easy to use use on stovetop. The cord is not supposed to be exposed to high temperatures per instructions so I would say the advertisement of using the thermometer in the oven without needing to open door to check temp is inaccurate.

Broke within two weeks

Worked great at first, but literally couldn't take the heat of my oven. Had the oven set to 425 and the remote was stuck firmly into a piece of meat. The wire wasn't touching any metal surface that could melt it. This device went haywire after a few minutes at that temperature, and now all it will do is show a temperature readout of "HHH" no matter what. It's in the garbage now.

Won't display the temp

The unit I received won't display temp at all and it did not come with instructions. I can't get it to do anything but count up or down so I will be returning

Just horrible, useless compared to the earlier model.

The prior model was astoundingly good and lasted almost two years before the probe broke. This one is useless. You must press it to light, every time you want a temp which makes it useless, further the probe is absurdly long so it's impossible to put into something thinner like a salmon steak. Buy an instant read thermometer. KitchenAid bring back the prior, wonderful model. Who wants to sit there pressing the button every ten seconds to see when fish reaches 135 degrees?

Works ok for short time

Bought in February and by Sept I was getting the high heat error even when the thermometer was only in the 350 oven for 5 minutes.

Did not work from the moment I turned it on.

Did not work from the moment it was turned on. Continuous beep with error message. No way to fix the problem. Amazon won't return it even though it's within 30 days. It was delivered May 9 - trying to return June 8 - it was a gift. Now I'm stuck with it. Definitely would not recommend this product or rely on Amazon return policy.

Es un producto excelente. No hay que abrir el horno para estar supervisando la temperatura. Lo utilicé por primera vez en un corte de carne grueso y el término quedó excelente
