Right tool for the right job

Perfect tool for circlips that don’t have the holes. I bought these to insert a slanted edge circlip deep into an axle cup. Spent an hour trying to get it in with flat heads and my other circlip pliers that are meant for the type with holes before I gave in and bought these. Took me 10 seconds to get it in. Solid metal and feels like it will last a long time.

Great for opening car key fobs

These are great for opening car key fobs. I work in automotive electronics manufacturing and have used the same pair since 2017. They are used every day, multiple times a day, and the only maintenance required is cleaning and occasional lubrication of the pivot joint. Not sure how they work for slip rings, but they are great for opening key fobs for troubleshooting!

Pulled apart a transmission just fine

I'd think that a pair of circlip pliers would either work or not. These worked no problem, and a pair of cheap snap ring pliers doesn't. Maybe there's some "middle of the road" pair out there that just sort-of works, but not sure what they'd look like. I do know that I've never been disappointed with Knipex, so I went with these (plus they were the fastest delivery).

The brand says it all

You can never really complain about a knipex tool. I use these a lot on large cat haul trucks, dozers and rubber tire axle snap rings. They are sturdy and you can’t beat the price.

The most useful tool in the toolbox!

If your toolbox doesn't have one of these you need to buy one. (No, I don't own the company or stock.) I was a bike mechanic for 12-13 years and reached for this tool more than any other. It's a c clip ring Spreader, but has so many other uses it's hard to innumerate. Get one!

Right tool for Circlip removed

Used this to remove the circlip rings on the front axle of my Land Cruiser. I had tried (unsuccessfully) to use regular snap rings. While this tool isn't cheap - it's definitely worth the money and built to last. All metal, not cheap plastic parts that could break. Great value tool that will last a lifetime.

For the price the crosshatching on the tips shouldn't be damaged 1st use

Poorly surface hardened tips started to tear up first use. After a couple uses there's next to no crosshatching left. I expected better quality from the brand especially for how expensive they were.

good quality tool, but expensive and doesn't work very well

The tool was as advertised, but it didn't work well with the plain snap rings. I ended up using other tools to install the snap rings. I think this is a problem with the design of snap rings without interior or exterior holes, but the tool just didn't work for me.

Knip it in the Bud

High quality pliers that'll work for many years. Well worth it, as well as being less expensive than the "Tool Trucks".
