Shower Supreme

This shower head lived up to its reviews which were all excellent. It has three settings and that is just right to get the stream of water one needs. The first setting is like a firehose and comes out the center. This is good for rinsing shampoo out of thick hair. The second setting is a ring of orifices surrounding the center and gives a strong spray that would be good for getting off soap. The third setting is many small orifices that give a nice gentle and wide spray which is where I leave the setting. All other settings are off when one is in use. This shower head is well worth the money and is my preferred shower head in the house.

Overpriced but it works

First I purchased the single spray Forte model and returned it because of a lack of intensity in the 1.75 GPM flow. Then I spend $90 more for the adjustable showerhead that is otherwise the same except--and this is huge--it puts out 2.5 GPM. Why you have to pay so much more for more flow is beyond me, but it works. The other settings are enjoyable to use, too. Using pipe thread tape, I had a terrible time simply spinning on the fitting. Why so hard? And since it's not heavy material I was understandably afraid of stripping the threads with too much torque. Oh well, it's installed now and we like it.

Great shower head.

This shower head replace an older model that wore out. This head is bigger than the last. The pressure seams to be slightly lower than our previous head. I may remove the inside screen later to see if it helps with pressure. Lots of water. My issue with the purchase is the additional $30 for the brushed chrome. To save $$, I purchased the shiny chrome.

Nice, three different spray patterns.

Really like this because I can use one concentrated stream, and wife a more diffuse stream. Gets the soap off. Gets the hair wet. Nice chrome finish. Bought one, later another for other bathroom. Nice small bathroom improvement. Good luck!

Mostly fabulous

The first one came on and was the completely wrong product but when I got the right one I like it. It is not a hard of a jet as I was hoping for but better then a lot of shower heads.

Decent if you have high water pressure, disappointing if you don’t

I had high expectations for this shower head, as it’s been the NYTimes/Wirecutter top recommendation for over 2 years now. We have two residences: A house with fantastic (if not overkill) water pressure, and an apartment with worse water pressure. This shower head takes on two completely different personalities. In the high water pressure house, it feels decent, like you can kinda tell it’s not a 90’s era torrential shower head, but you can easily stomach the compromise thanks to the water savings. But in our low water pressure apartment, it’s so underwhelming that we both laughed when we first turned it on. Water lazily dribbles out and you can see an arc as the water basically free-falls onto you when standing 2 feet away. We did some experiments, and saw that while the same 1.75gpm flows at each location, the difference is the aeration. With high water pressure, you can hear the shower head hiss, the streams coming out are milky white with air bubbles. But with low water pressure, the water dribbling out is simply clear with the occasional air bubble in the stream. The fancy aeration mechanism that is supposed to feel like extra water only seems to work if you have high water pressure. Apart from how lackluster the shower feels, we weren’t impressed with the overall build quality. It’s very prone to leaking from the valve unless you use a ton of teflon tape and tighten it really hard. The material is almost all plastic and after a few weeks of use the lever has worn down to dull plastic. This might be an okay shower head if you have really high water pressure and other low-flow heads feel like pins and needles — the aeration feature really helps to soften the streams. But if you have average to low water pressure, I don’t think you’ll be impressed at this price point, it feels like a compromise and there’s no hiding that it is a super water saving shower head. I personally recommend the High Sierra shower heads more. Even their 1.5gpm one feels more satisfying than this. And their 1.8 and 2.0 flow rates feel like showering under a fire hose.

Really well designed - a lovely experience on all the settings

So glad I bought this. Love it! Easy to switch from one shower option to another and perfect performance on each. Going to buy another for the cottage.

Amazing water saver without sacrificing comfort

This is the best water saving shower head I’ve ever used. The spray pattern and aeration are amazing, it doesn’t feel like a major loss of water flow. The hot water lasts so much longer, even if guests are staying over. Our gas bill decreased noticeably per month as well.

I sense it will be lighter in weight than the brass one it will replace, but that might be okay. Can't wait. (Earlier comment) Okay, just used it for the first time, and here is my review. It is light in weight, and wider than I thought, neither of those are necessarily negatives. And it IS a showerhead, not a "Hydrorail(R)-R Beam Bath/Shower Column." I sent amazon a message last week to that effect but they have not corrected the description above (Canadian site only). I quite like it in use and point out that Wirecutter recently rated this as their favourite showerhead. My previous one had a narrow, somewhat strong spray. This one has a wide spray, gentle and rainlike, in the setting of the 3 outside concentric circles. It covers the body well. The narrower more focused somewhat pulsating stream is better for rinsing hair. The third setting is softer and steamier and feels just a bit cooler as it is air-infused. I recommend this purchase and hope the the head is long-lived. Only time will tell.
