You get what you pay for.

Listen. I'm not the one to take my time to write reviews about things I purchase here on Amazon especially inexpensive stuff since "you get what you pay for" but this product was VERY disappointing. I was looking forward to actually using this paint since my idea was to paint a small chevron patter on my wood dresser. At first I didn't think it would be that hard to get gold paint since it's so popular now a days, so I was super excited when I found this one and with good reviews. However, when I tried this on a scrap piece of wood that's the same as my dresser I was again extremely dissapointed, I am so glad I had that scrap piece of wood and didn't directly paint on my dresser. The best way I can describe the way this paint goes on wood is, picture yourself getting a glass of water and a painting brush and just dragging the painting brush through wood, it just starts to dry and the color does not stay. I tried putting on another 3 coats after the first but it still was extremely transparent. What makes me even more mad is the fact that on the bottle itself it says 'good on wood' ummmm my ass, that's complete BS. The only surface I feel this is good for is if you ripped a piece of paper off your notebook and wanted to paint on that, but I still think you would have to put like 3 coats to get the color you desire. I know I'm being a little harsh on this product, especially since I only paid $10 for it, but I feel like I could have actually spent those $10 on a paint that actually works for wood. I won't return it since I feel it is rude that I already used some and it's opened, but if I didn't feel that that was rude I would demand my money in a heartbeat. Just so you understand, the only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because it's a nice color and I could still use it on paper. Of course you get what you pay for.

Color is true and exact

I love how easy it applies to surfaces. I changed the color of my white kitchen cabinet hardware from black to gold. It gave it the pop it needed. User friendly, hard to make a mistake and cleanup was very minimal. There is nothing that I do not like about this product. Very good quality. My only concern is that I do not over extend. Thinking about getting silver. LOVE IT, very happy with the results. Thank you,

Gold Acrylic paint-not actual liquid gold! just so you know

This arrived quiclky and without problems. I was just disappointed because I took the name "Liquid Metal" far too seriously. This is metallic acrylic paint, nothing more. Same gold paint that you can buy in any art supply store. It has am edium body and behaves like Liquitex or Basic brand paints. I was looking for gold, shiny metal like leafing as an outcome. Seargent did not mislead me, I just read it wrong. For my purposes I used things out of the SpeedBall line and acheived what I intended. I wish the name was not Liquid Metal, only becasue it is a shimmery acrylic not liquid gold.

I use a lot of gold for acrylic pours and this is the brightest, shiniest, blingiest gold I have found so far. I love it.

I love the product - went on beautifully with a paintbrush ...

We used this to rim the edges of clay bowls we made at home in our oven (using sculpey clay). I love the product - went on beautifully with a paintbrush and I can't wait to use again. Want to address two of the concerns I had reading reviews: 1) We used a sculpey clay sealant/clear coat and it did NOT change the color of the gold. 2) I was very worried about fumes because my husband gets migraines and chemical smells are a trigger. He did this craft with me and we had no issues. We had opened a window just to be safe, but it was December on the east coast, so we only had it open five minutes.

Multiple thin coats

It’s kinda sheer. Gotta use multiple thin coats but it’s really pretty. Used it on the edge of a bookshelf and trying it on a mirror. You get a ton. Barely has a dent in it.

Super Thin

This paint is super thin: water like. That being said if you want full coverage it takes three coats or more of this paint to cover completely . The color is exquisite, bright rich gold, and because I like the color and end result I've been willing to be patient and do many coats to achieve a solid gold color. It also was back ordered repeatedly, and took more than a couple months to get here....

Excellent quality paint - the gold is a very yellow-gold

This paint is excellent in quality, a little goes a long way. My only issue is that the color was much more yellow than I expected. I was going for a darker gold. Of course it is difficult to tell when buying online.

brilliant

I brought this paint for my dads gravestone as it needed repainted for his 75 th birthday. The church wanted £150 pound to repaint it but I bought this paint and it did the job just as good. Anybody who wants to repaint somebodies gravestone this is the paint to do the job. The cost was brilliant and did the job I need to do.

Stunning Shimmer

I used this paint for a mural on my wall. I fell in love with the paint immediately. Although quite thin, it leaves such a gorgeous metallic finish. I had to put 3 layers on for it to be opaque, but the other paint needed 2 layers too, so it wasn't much different. Not only did it look incredible on my walls, I barely put a dent in the product. The shimmer of the paint is so beautiful. I can't get enough of it.

Lovely paint to work with the only down side is that you have to pay customs and excise on this product when delivered.

Wonderful product

it is fantastic for highlighting, or doing a rub, if you want full coverage it needs 2-3 coats with at least 24 hours in between. For painting techniques and antiquing WONDERFUL!
