The rice tastes so much better... but the user manual is terrible

We are very pleased with the rice cooker and very frustrated by the user manual. The rice is so much better than in our old single button rice cooker. Pretty much perfectly cooked. The user manual is very difficult to understand. Unclear directions written by someone who probably does not speak English as their primary language. The markings for water level, inside the pot, are etched in so probably durable, but because they are the same color as the rest of the pot, they are difficult to see. The cooker has a "clean" mode which seems to do a very good job of cleaning the parts if they get gummy residue (such as when we tried cooking faro in the cooker). If there is a delayed start mode, we have not found it yet, given the poorly written user manual.

Cook rice good but overheats

Cook rice good but overheats. Have to eat your rice within 12 hrs. After that it gets dry because of overheating while on warm settings.

Perfect rice etc

I know, I know, I can make rice in a pot with a tight fitting lid. This cooker takes all the guesswork out of the equation. Just add all the ingredients it asks for, press the button, and voila, perfection!

makes brown rice palpable

I grew up eating many bowls of white jasmine rice every day, cooked in a cheap $30 rice cooker. Recently I've ventured in the world of brown rice and upgraded to this machine as it can make brown rice even delicious with its GABA brown (sprouted brown rice) function. The function ferments the rice for 3 hrs before cooking, so total cook time is ~ 3.5 hrs. The instructions recommend soaking for up to 18 hrs before cooking the rice to encourage even more sprouting. This is what I've noticed: 1. no fermenting: yuck, kernels are still super hard 2. 3 hr fermenting: it's okay, but kernels aren't quite "fluffy" yet 3. 3 hrs soak, 3 hrs ferment: quite good 4. 12 hr+ soak, 3 hrs ferment: maybe even tastier than white rice??? I use regular short grain brown rice mixed with a small scoop of an 8-grain mix (black rice, barley, etc). I looked forever for "GABA rice" at the store, and I think some stores do sell pre-sprouted, but I think you can just use regular brown rice, and the soak + ferment process is what makes it "GABA" rice. GABA supposedly is healthier too but honestly I'm just in it for the taste. I think cuckoo's fancier pressure cooker rice cookers can make GABA brown rice even faster/tastier, because the manuals for those didn't suggest pre-soaking the rice (yes I read all the manuals... can you tell I'm a virgo). But if you don't mind the extra hassle of waiting, this one is quite nice and decently priced!

Mediocre But Cute Rice Cooker

This rice cooker is really cute, but in terms of ease of use, it's not that cute, mediocre at best. It makes good rice, so that's not the issue here. It functions the way it's supposed to, it's just not an enjoyable time. If you want to work harder cooking rice than you should for a higher end rice cooker, then buy this cutie. If not, read on to make an informed decision! There were some reviews that noted that the button is hard to use. It is. Unlike other rice cooker brands like Zojirushi or Tiger, you literally have to use both hands so that the thing doesn't kick back when you open the rice cooker. Making menu selections was ok, but it's either super sensitive to your touch or not at all. Timer feature was not intuitive. I wanted to make steel cut oats for the morning and followed instructions, but it took me a while to figure it out. The inside pot was a lot thinner than other rice cookers I've had. I don't think this is a huge issue but it does leave less room for error. And that error can come from the very hard to read measurements inside the inner pot. Again, this cute lil robot functions the way it's supposed to, and quite well. But the accessibility design was just not on point for me enough to want to keep it. I'm going back to the Zojirushi NS-LGC05XB.

Great Quality

I purchased this since all my sons move out of home so I cook for myself and this size is very convenient for this purpose. I previously used a crock pot but it got broken. I hope this product lasts longer. It is only for rice whereas the crock pot I cooked rice and stews.

Need help

The media could not be loaded. Start button is not working well I have to press any other button first and then cancel it. After that press start button again Ordered October this happen start it Dec. I cooking rice one to two times a week.
