Great self watering pot
The water gauge is probably working. I'm still top watering per instructions from the website. Easy installation. Beautiful pot. As far as having an inner pot to fit it, I had a pot from Bonnie herbs (US based) that fit perfectly. Your 3", 4" nursery grow pots won't fit. Another reviewer listed a pot available on Amazon that would be worth the investment. This pot is made by one of the leaders in self watering planters. You really can't beat the price. Came quick, great packaging, not a scratch. I highly recommend. After about a month I can water from the top inlet, watch the gauge, and let it go.

Deceiving
The "14" after the product name makes it seem like you're getting a quantity of 14. This product is for a pot to go inside of. Not actually able to plant directly inside of.

Wish I had known I had to supply my own net pot....
First of all I love the color of this planter and I can't wait to put the appropriate plant baby in it..... but I find it absolutely RIDICULOUS that there is no grow pot insert included and that neither the description (even on Lechuzas site LMAO) nor the instructions mention that it is 100% necessary and 100% not included. Lechuza charges SO MUCH for their planters that you'd think they could throw us average Joes a $.99 nursery pot (bonus points if it's long enough to be effective)! I had to spend 2 hours digging through my potting shed for something that would work. Luckily I found one to reuse but had I not kept it I would have had to return this whole planter because the dimensions are kinda specific. Very frustrating and misleading... and REALLY annoying. Probably won't buy another Lechuza after this just out of my stubbornness/principle.

be careful.
I have been using this brand of flower pots in my country for many years. and it was not even proved that they have such pots with a hole. it's wildly inconvenient. now I don’t know how to plant a flower in it, because over time this system will not work correctly. very upset(((

Don’t waste your money. Buy the dupe
These are so cheaply made that the gauge is garbage. Completely unreliable. As that is the whole point of a self-watering pot, buy the dupe. The cheap knock-off might not work either but if the lechuza pot doesn’t work any better, why pay the ridiculous price for them? I had just purchased a Thai Constellation Monstera and a Monstera Albo and since the plants themselves are so expensive, I didn’t want to risk the cheap knock off. I have inadvertently over watered them both on several occasions because the gauge sticks. They have also dried out several times for the same reason. Sure I can check them by removing the net pot and looking inside, but I paid $120 so that I wouldn’t have to do that. I would have returned them both, but I had hoped they would loosen up and start working after being used for a while. My mistake. I’m going to trash them both and repot my plants in something I can see through to check the water level. What a waste.

Need to find the pot to match it.
Just like other reviews, you just put the plant bought from the store in the current pot, and insert the added string in the pot, otherwise no bottom for the inside part, it cannot be used as the regular pot. For sure pretty looking, but other Lechuza's pot is much better that you could actually "plant" it.

Where is the growing pot?
This looks nice and I’m excited to try self-watering pots, but for something this costs so much, why doesn’t it include like a nursery pot?? It is very annoying that I’ll have to find the right pot to grow the plants in now

Almost killed my plant
One of my plant needs water, a lot of it. Got so fed up of watering it every other day that I decided to buy this Lechuza CUBE pot (along with three other Lechuza DELTA 10 planters for my cooking herbs). The DELTA 10 planters are absolutely incredible, the herbs love them and I now have almost 2ft tall basil 'trees'! The DELTA comes with gravel which serves as an intermediate between water and soil. However, this CUBE, which comes with a 'string' system is a disaster. I planted a beautiful "Love and Wishes" plant which needs water every other day. In the past, it had almost died because of insufficient water, so I was desperate to find a solution to keep them alive whilst away on holiday. I followed all the instructions and made sure the pot was never sitting in water. After four weeks, I noticed the plant began wilting. The soil was moist so I couldn't understand what was going on. I removed the plant from its pot, a quick smell of the soil confirmed root rot. Luckily my plant survived after rapid intervention and soil change, but I'm back to watering it every other day. This pot now serves as a decoration. I would not recommend this pot at all. The system doesn't work. Lechuza is a great brand, not sure how they ended up with this disaster of a pot. Try the DELTA planters which come with gravel, I cannot rate those highly enough!

Nice but rather useless
First of all, the plant pot looks really nice, the design is simple and elegant, BUT... The pot does not fulfill the basic requirements: there is a huge hole on the bottom of the inner plot (s. pictures) as other customers also mentioned before me. In this case you have to have a planting pot with the required measurements to fit the size of the inner pot. Otherwise you can't plant anything directly in the Lechuza pot... After contacting the company, I got the answer, that I have to order an extra bottom for the inner pot (for 3Euros) if I want to plant anything directly in the pot. I don't have an issue with the price of the "extra part", but rather with the fact that it is nowhere mentioned that I would require an additional bottom. Also I think if anyone orders such a planting pot, one assumes you can plant directly in it without any 'additional upgrades' so that the basic function of the planting pot can be fulfilled. It is like ordering a knife, but the blade is not included... This is an utter nonsense. Since the pot cannot be used as intended I wanted to give a one-star review, but only out of good will towards the company, which has other reliable products, I give it two stars. Nonetheless I still do not recommend this planting pot.

Does not self-water as well as other lechuza pots
I have other lechuza self-water pot models that are working well on my maiden fern and asparagus fern. I decided to try this current model under review for it's stylish cube shape. This self-watering cubic pot comes with a relatively thinner string (as compared to the other lechuza models) that connects the bottom of your plant pot to the water reservoir. I used it to self-water my boston fern and spider plant during my two week vacation. When I came back, the reservoir water level was still above the minimum level but the soil surface was very dry in both of these pots. Many of the boston fern's leaves had turned brown or had shrivelled and had to be cut off. The tips of the spider plant also turned brown. I do not recommend this lechuza cube model and will not be buying it again.

It's NOT a Self Watering Plant Pot
It's a Self Watering Plant Pot *Holder*, you have to provide your own pot. 12cm wide by 10cm deep. There is a large hole in the base which means you can't just fill it with soil. For the price I'd expect it to come with everything you need, it does not. On the plus side It's a very nice metallic black colour and the materials feel of very high quality.

Great idea, but missing something
The black “bucket” part has a giant hole in the bottom as they expect you to put a plastic pot inside this. I prefer to plant my plants directly inside because without using the tiniest pot, you can always see the plastic! As you can imagine the huge hole presents a problem. I cut some plastic lids, cut a hole in them (for the string) and then used that as a way to avoid needing a plastic pot. Far from ideal, but it does the job. I wish they included a small insert to do this for us, or just had the internal hole small enough that soul didn’t pour right out!
