Convenient to use.
Gets rid of one more device. All you need is your device and its cord. Easy to install if you have experience working with electricity, otherwise call a licensed electrician. This is heavy duty hospital grade construction, made so the device that's plugged into it won't become disconnected without significant force. Impact and chemical resistant PBT face. The USB ports are rated a 3.6a/5v (combined output) so they can charge most USB powered devices without overheating. The outlets are "Tamper Resistant" which makes them compliant with the latest code requirements for new homes and remodels. It's compact design will fit into standard receptacle boxes. Although the product literature states it has the "lowest vampire power" although it does not come right out and say exactly how low that is. It's side and back wired for connections. FCC part 15 compliant. Although it's not code, some folks recommend installing this receptacle with the ground terminal up. The thought is that IF the device is not plugged in all the way, and IF a metallic object should fall on the exposed plug teminals, it will land on the ground terminal and fall off, instead of POSSIBLY causing a short between neutral and hot. The problem with that is that many molded cord plugs are made with the ground terminal on the bottom with the cord hanging down. Reversing it puts stress on the conductors. You decide.

This is a great outlet if you want USB charging in addition to the standard outlets in one package. Suitable for places with up to 20amp circuits. Charges at 3.6amps, so it charges fast and has no problems with two devices at a single time. I put them in my kids bedrooms because they always need USB chargers, and the wall warts take up too much space and always seem to get lost... oddly enough they haven't lost a single one of these :-)

5 star all the way.
I own one of these and one Cooper. This one is superior. Not only does it appear beefier and of higher quality if you notice the USB slots are vertical. I prefer that. (The Cooper is horizontal.)

great on kitchen counter. fussy ipad with apple's annoying tendency to refuse to charge with anything not bought from them still charged with it.
