Replaced old Little Giant pump after 15 years. Best value and workmanship

I like Little Giant pump because it can be installed horizontally or vertically. It includes alternate connectors, although I didn't need that because it fit the last connection, perfectly. It is well made. My last pump was also a Little Giant and lasted over 15 years. I couldn't find this pump locally. It was replaced by the store, with a line of cheaper pumps. I contacted Little Giant and was pleased with their help. Sent a pic of the old pump and they told me which one was comparable. Purchased from Amazon, because they offered the model I needed, at the best price. I have a small pond 300 gal., with a waterfall located about 4 feet above the pond base. Flow is perfect. I recommend installing with filter covering the water input on the pump. I'm sure it's one of the factors it lasted so long.

Great Pump

I've used this exact pump for over 15 years. They last right at 3 years of constant use in Southern Ohio including winters. Lasting that long is great given how much use they receive including sometimes getting clogged with debris they still keep pumping.

Equivalent Replacement

Had a Franklin Electric 507909 SuperPro which had been discontinued. On the Amazon site and other sources, appeared the WGP-65-PW was a equivalent replacement. One is never sure until the product is received, which it was. Not sure why Franklin changed the part number, but so be it. Since our large water feature went in in 2010, which runs daily, have had two replacement 507909's. The initial install lasted three years, the first replacement three years, and the second replacement five years. This is/was our third replacement pump. The new 566409 pump is installed and works fine, just like the old on. The price was only a few more than the nearest local dealer who has stock, but was 50 miles away around trip. Appreciate the quick Amazon delivery.

pump lasts about 25 years!

We just replaced this pond pump. the first one, (exactly like it) lasted about 25 years. The pump runs 14 hours a day spring, summer , and fall. its quiet and powers a water fall feature in our pond.

Nice but bigger than I anticipated

Nice pump and it's strong. Only complaint is the size was much bigger than I anticipated. I'm using it in a sunken little giant basin (36" basin) and it just works. I have to keep the water level full or the pump can be heard. I found pondoutlet . com has some great fittings, if you're trying to make this work for a fountain. I was splitting into three gabion cage fountains. Height of all three was about 9 feet of raise. For my set up, I reduced the 1" to 3/4" and used a flow control 3-way splitter. This was fed into the fountains by non-kink tubing. It produces a bubble over effect that falls down the rocks in the cages and produces a waterfall sound. Overall, I like the pump. Just wish I'd understood the size a bit better when I bought it. Needed the GPH, but not the size. I used a three way splitter with flow control. This pump produces enough to more than

Direct replacement at the lowest cost

Bought this as an exact replacement for my previous pump. According to the previous owner, the former pump was only about 1 1/2 years old. If thats the case, it didn't last as long as I would have liked. The unit would actually run if I bypassed my Gfi; definitely not doing that. I'm happy with the new pump so far as the PRICE on Amazon was MUCH LOWER. Will have to wait and see if the longevity is better with this unit.

Poor Customer Servive

I bought this pump because it was suppose to be the best one. It was purchased July 2022. It makes squealing noises and can't even hear my fountain. I have tried emails and calls to technological suppose. No answers , no help. So much for a three year warranty. DO NOT buy this product. Worst customer service!!

Awesome, quiet, works as expected.

We only bought it to replace the exact same one thats been in our pond for WAY longer than the 8 yrs we've lived here. Any product that is IDENTICAL to when 'it was last purchased a dozen or more years ago is identical for a reason (because it was clearly built to actually last!)

Excellent Pump for a Small Pond Waterfall and Biofilter

The pump performs as advertised. Amazon advert has a discrepancy. Only one 1-1/4"-1" barbed tubing adaptor is supplied - NOT two. The other 1-1/4" discharge port has a cap. Ideal pump for recirculating pond size between 1000 - 2000 gallons.

All I use are little giant pumps for my 2000 gal pond. One for the filters and waterfall. One on the bog filter/ water drain

Stoped working after 1 year

This is the second one of these I have owned. First one lasted 4 years. This second one about 1 year. Motor is frozen and won't turn. No obstructions. Seriously dissappointed.
