Space Efficient Mixing Bowls

I need a mixing bowl. Found this “Martha Stewart Hoyt 8 pc Round Mixing Bowl Set”. Let me cross-reference my checklist 1.) Pretty design - check 2.) Space efficient - check 3.) Food safe - check 4.) Functional design - check Okay, I got sold and purchased this. But am missing the following things that are available in competing products: a.) Measuring marks b.) Spouts There are four (4) bowls in this set and each one has a see-through lid. I like that the lid has a tab that assists in the easy opening. Please see the photos I posted. All bowls’ bottoms have the Martha Stewart logo and a translucent soft plastic around the bottom that provides a good grip when placed on the counter. Compared to stainless-steel or pyrex mixing bowls, this is inexpensive, lightweight, and unbreakable when empty. I will use these bowls for mixing and maybe other kitchen duties like storing stuff. Even though these are BPA-Free, I will not use these in the microwave or when dealing with hot food. Pricey compared to other plastic bowls here on Amazon but hey! - You are paying for Martha Stewart’s name.

Beautiful and Functional

This is a very pretty set of plastic bowls and lids. Here are a few things to consider: The size variety is good, and the lids are a plus. They look beautiful - typical of Martha items. The lid seal is pretty good - you can store stuff on top of a bowl with a lid on it, or stack something on top of it. I would not, however, trust it like a gasket lid. It's not water-tight. These bowls are plastic, so I will use them for things like serving chips, taking salsa or pasta salad to a picnic, or storing leftovers. The listing says BPA free, but that's the easy one everyone looks for. What about BPS? Phthalates? PFAS? Definitely keep them cool and never heat in them. They are plastic, so they're not breakable, but they will get marked and scored by utensils. They're advertised as mixing bowls, but I probably won't use them as such, and if I do I'll be sure to grab soft silicone mixing utensils. I feel like the price is a bit high. They are lovely, and very giftable (they arrive nested in a Martha Stewart box), but maybe wait for a sale.

I Like These Bowls

I do like these bowls. They are lightweight, but they also seem sturdy. I've found that with some similar bowls, either it's really difficult to get the lids on, or they don't stay closed. Luckily, these lids go on easily and stay secure. Once you are ready to open them, they open easily. I like the variety of sizes, and I like that they are easily stackable so they take up less room. The pictures make them look light blue. I feel like the color is more of a mint green with a bluish tint. It's a nice color, so that's not a big deal. I'd just consider it more green than blue. My biggest issue with these is that they say that they are not microwavable. That's honestly not even something that I would wonder about when getting plastic bowls. I'd normally just assume that they could be used in the microwave. That makes these not as convenient as I originally anticipated. That along with the $40 price tag makes these a 4-star, rather than a 5-star product in my opinion.

Microwave??

The bowls are almost perfect. I love the color. The bowls are deep and that's a good feature. They nest in each other when lid not on. Easy to clean. Lightweight and lids fit as they should without popping off. The lids seal when on but are easy to take off when needed. My only issue is they are not microwaveable, and I microwave just about everything.

Nice bowl set

I love nesting bowls because they take up less space and these fit well inside of each other with their lids too. I didn't realize they weren't glass - completely missed plastic in the description. I do think for plastic the price is a little high, I'm sure because of the brand name. For people looking for something microwavable this is not what you want. That doesn't really bother me since we really shouldn't be microwaving plastic anyway due to all the chemicals. These seem like they'll be a good quality, but only time will tell. One other thing to note is that they are dishwasher safe, but only on the top rack.

Nice bowls

This is a nice set of mixing bowls. I also love the kids that are included. I do however think they are priced a bit high. I was expecting a wow factor for the price point.

Works great

Set consists of 4 mixing bowls of various sizes, including lids for each. For whatever reason I thought they were glass bowls (obviously didn't read the description very good). These are still very good and a great addition to any kitchen. Quality is great and color is pretty.
