Not perfect but pretty nice lamp still

I needed a ceiling light in my home office since there is no built-in ceiling light in that room and been using table or computer desk lamps with limited success. I saw this and decided to give it a try for my home office room and it came in a few days in good shape. Easy to install and get some ceiling hooks because you will need them with this sort of lamp. I used several ceiling hooks to keep this lamp mounting over my work desk and several to guide the attached plug/cord to the wall and to the AC outlet. 60 watts light bulb is the max this lamp can safely use. I just used a 40 watt bulb and it works well enough for me. It has a ON/OFF flip switch on the cord. I wished that ON/OFF switch was placed a little higher up because it's near the AC outlet and I have to bend under my desk just to turn it on or off. Lamp shade is white plastic and looks good overall with a chrome-like top on it. Overall, 4 star rating for a pretty nice-looking ceiling light.

Great light

These hanging lights are very good. Even though they are plastic they look nice and give good light and easy to clean. I have two in my kitchen.

It looks very nice. I love that the cord is Incased in plastic tubing. I worry the on off switch won’t last though. If I didn’t have a wall plug @ desk height instead of the baseboard height, the on & off switch would mean stooping over, because it is low in this cord. Plus, when hanging it, I had to create a loop from Velcro & a bungee cord or else it just slides down. It isn’t pretty. I think I will order the decorative duct tape to use instead. The lamp is bright. I can see well with it & my vision without glasses is legally blind. So that isn’t always the case with lamps. I might update after I have had it a while. Because long lasting is a goal. It came quickly & wasn’t damaged. Lately the packing from Amazon hasn’t had enough protective shipping inserts or padding added. We have received busted products because of that . Because UPS & Fed-Ex have been rough when setting our packages on the porch. So I was worried about the lamp. But it came through well protected.

Exactly as stated

This easily replaced the overhead light that had gone out. We already had a place where a previous hanging lamp had been, so it was just a matter of determining how far down we wanted it to hang, then plugging it in. Viola! Office darkness issue resolved. People complained in their reviews that the shade was plastic instead of glass, but we've had plastic shades before with no issues. I used a 100 watt light bulb in this, btw.

Awesome anywhere

This light is awesome. Gives off a lot of light and couldn’t be easier! Plug in and hang anywhere!! We have ours over kitchen table and just put hook on ceiling over table and done. Very satisfied

Love it, but the cord could have been a bit longer.

Great price, and it looks great in our living room, and is so much brighter than just using table lamps, but the cord is a bit short. Our living room is only 14 foot by 14 foot square, and with the light centered, the cord comes just to the bottom of the window, so we had to use an extension cord.

Being light weight is a plus. The plastic looks really good. You wouldn’t know it wasn’t glass.

Love it. To encourage the cord to relax a little quicker I placed about a cup of rice +- in a sandwich bag to lay longway on the cord. Shown in the second picture. The cord is great being a clear/silver color. I used a 25 watt bulb and works perfectly over my kitchen sink. The on/off switch is about 18-20 inches from plug in.

Good light for the price.

Was a little smaller than we expected but it worked out perfectly for the price and gives us the light where we needed it most. Works well with Alexa.

worth buying

If you do not have ceiling light this is an EXCELLENT ALTERNATIVE. It is plastic but very nice looking. The cord has an on off switch on it for easy turning on and off. Cord is very long which is great. Would have been nice to have a hole or some type of bracket to attach to a ceiling hook but I wrapped a cloth cord around the electrical cord so it would not slide and hung it from that. Definitely would recommend.

Great for the price

Works really well for the price and is substantially lower cost than similar items. It's really lightweight and 2 simple hooks are all that is needed to keep it up. I didnt need any screw anchors to prevent the hooks from pulling out of the drywall because it is so light. Cord is a good length, switch is easy to use, and it can be hung anywhere you need a bit of extra light.
