The blue is beautiful!!l

This is an absolutely beautiful China set. It's too pretty to even think about eating on. I saw this çhina on display in a furniture store about four years ago found it on display at a department store by mistake. I found out by the time that I made up my mind to purchase the set in the department store that it was discontinued but.... not on Amazon!! Boy I am glad about hat now that I'm putting my house together. Anyway the cobaltblue is beautiful the platinum trim is out of sight gorgeous!!! I like my sets.

Masculine and elegant

I'm a single guy who decided to purchase a china set, and I wanted something strong, masculine, and elegant. So, I wasn't going to be buying something with flowers on it like those sets from the mid-1980s. The Crestwood Cobalt Platinum completely met my requirements. The dark blue cobalt stripe is wide, making a strong visual statement while providing a nice contrast to the platinum band around the edge. The set looks very expensive, but is actually more affordable as a 20-piece set here on Amazon. It has enough pieces for four place settings. I also considered the Crestwood Platinum set, but the cobalt stripe is very striking and makes the masculine statement I want, both for display and in actual use. The pieces are light and strong, though not as light as my everyday Corelle dishes. This set can be either hand washed or machine washed, but avoid lemon based soaps, which can discolor the platinum. As with any set with metal, the dishes cannot be used in a microwave oven. If you're looking for a china set, this is a great choice-it looks expensive and elegant, it has a timeless look, and it has a look that will appeal to men as well as women. It is a more expensive choice than the Crestwood Platinum set without the cobalt band, so if cost is a deciding factor, I would recommend that option, but if you want good heirloom china with strong visual appeal and can afford the bump in price, go for this set. Not only does it look great on display, but it makes any special dinner more elegant.

One star was generous

We chose this Noritake pattern for our wedding registry at a department store. SEVERAL of our pieces needed to be returned because the "paint" on the pieces bled through to the other colors. In a 5 piece place setting, we would be lucky to have 2 pieces that were perfect. We have had to return several pieces repeatedly and have finally decided to return all and change patterns altogether. We recommend that you do not purchase Noritake china!!!

Beautiful and usable

My husband and I registered for this china for our wedding, and we could not be happier with it. We knew when we registered that the pieces would be very pretty, but we really fell in love with them when we realized how sturdy they are compared to some formalware. Unlike some china settings, these won't make you scared to use them. Of course, we won't be using them everyday and would never put them in a dishwasher, but if you really wanted to make them everyday place settings, I doubt that they would deteriorate very quickly. We could not be more pleased. As a side note, the accent plates, while not listed in the 4-piece setting, are even more beautiful than they look in the pictures and are absolutely worth the extra expense to complete the set.
