Love these!

Went to the beach in Hawaii and had to walk on the rocks is a great feeling to not hurt my feet and still get plenty of air like a sandal

Not water resistant or water proof if sole comes off after less than one year.

I ordered these Burke II women's water resistant/water proof shoes (as the manufacturer description claims) 8 months ago for doing yard work (yes, water is involved in yard work) and occasional use (about two times per month) on our kayak where I would be stepping into water and then shoes would be out of the water and drying for the next 2-4 hours in the kayak. About two months ago the sole of one of the shoes was coming apart from the upper material. On inspection I realized that the upper is only attached between the insole and hard sole with a thin, approximately 1/2 inch piece of material. I was able to slip the thin material back between the insole and hard sole and glue them back together with Shoe Goo and clamp the upper to the hard sole with industrial pinch clamps. That seems to have worked, but now I have had to glue back together the second shoe as well and now the first shoe has yet another spot that this thin, short piece of cloth is coming out of between the insole and hard sole. It seems to me these are not meeting the definition of a water resistant shoe, as the original glue and material used to bind the upper to the sole is not adequate for even occasional dampness. I contacted Amazon and was offered a $5 credit to my account, but can find no contact information for this company directly via Amazon. I will contact the company via their website. I would not recommend this shoe if you plan to wear them for activities near or involving water, even walking in it ( I live in Florida, not Seattle). Too bad as they are protective of ones feet for yard work, and very light and comfortable for walking and great on the kayak. They just need a more robust adhesion system. If this can be improved I would order them again. Update: I did get a response after directly contacting Northside/Triple T Trading. They offered to replace them with a newer, different style, a Torrance sandal at no cost to me. I took them up on that offer and the sandals appeared on my porch two weeks later. The sizing is a little different, these seem a bit longer for size 9, but due to the style of them I think they are going to work fine for my needs. Hope they last longer than the Burke II sandal. I do thank Northside/Triple T Trading for their good customer service and speedy follow up, so would give them a 5 star rating for that.

Great for Zion Nat'l Park!

I bought the shoes specifically for the national Park, after doing much research I figured to find both a shoe that can be used on different terrain, and also walking through the river. After looking at the Teva brand shoes and realizing they costed three times as much, these were a happy compromise. I ended up buying a pair for myself, my youngest brother who is 10, and my parents. All of us were non-experienced hikers, and this would be our first time at the national Park. So wanted to make sure that we had a good shoes to walk through the river if need be. The shoe itself did fit a little big. I would say get the size that you wear normally, so if you normally wear a size 8 I would get a size 8. I opted to get my mom a size smaller because she was a half-size. However getting the smaller size caused her toes to be extremely crunched. And she was uncomfortable. My brother who is 10, said his shoes fit perfectly. They do have big kid sizes. And he was able to run, hike, and jump off the waterfall like all the other kids while wearing the shoes and they did not come off at all in the river. All in all I give the shoes a five out of five star rating, because most water shoes seemed like they had some problems when they got wet. However these shoes were literally submerged in River water for about four hours on my feet, and they did not fall apart nor did they itch at any time, and they dried rather quickly about 45 Minutes in the sun and they were dry! I personally found the sole to be very good! It came in handy when I was walking through the river on mossy rocks, I did not slip easy like other people who had regular athletic shoes, or sandals on. My stepdad found this used to be quite nice considering they have a little breathing holes throughout the shoe so that when dirt and a little rocks got in there they were easily filtered out just by regular walking. I definitely would recommend these shoes if you're planning on going hiking, or camping , or if you just have a rambunctious child that likes to run around and jump off of stuff, these probably are the best shoes for them!

Great little hiking sandals, comfy and no blistering from the get-go

There's a lot of nay-saying in some of these reviews, but my experience has been the opposite. No, they are not Keens. If you want Keens, buy Keens! These are clearly, as per the price, not meant to be the same level of quality. However, if what you're after is similar to myself - a decent, closed-toe hiking sandal that can handle up to 10km hikes through various terrain and water crossings whilst still being fairly inexpensive - these are great. I live in the Rockies of southwestern Alberta, lots of sharp rocks, occasional red ants, sometimes thorny or spiky plants, etc. I've worn these sandals on up to 10 km of real hiking (though haven't taken them through large areas of scree as, in my opinion, sandals in scree is a recipe for constant frustration due to rocks in your shoes) through forest, meadows, rocky trails, ridgelines, and creeks and lakes. They perform beautifully, no blisters or even hot spots during the breaking-in phase. Like most sandals, especially in their price range, they do not have much in the way of arch support. I did find they fit slightly smaller than one's normal size; I typically wear a women's 9.5, and some other purchasers recommended I try a 9, but this was too tight. I returned them and got the 10, which fit perfectly. That said, I do have slightly wider-than-average feet for a woman, so keep that in mind. Also, the return process was very easy, I even received my replacement size 10s before I'd dropped my return size 9s in the mail!

Comfortable

I like these. I am a size 8.5 normally and i opted to get a size 8, I'm glad I did. If you're a half size I would recommend sizing down. I was worried at first they seemed a bit snug but they actually fit really well, snug enough that I'm not worried about them slipping off. Ive used them for water sports and appreciate that they are closed toe while offering some grip also. Worth it for the price

Out of the box they fit perfectly as I expected for size 6US. The lilac/black is a nice colour. They are very comfortable for sitting and strolling. Have not tried them outdoors yet but I will soon and update if needed. Hoping they are long lasting even with the very respectable, lower end price point.
