Just throw out your other spatulas

This is hands down the best spatula for medium to high heat cooking. It never melts and washes easily in the dishwasher. I have 5 of these now. It’s just not worth using other brands that don’t withstand the heat.

A little floppy at the front

I got this to more easily flip okonomiyaki, which are large and heavy. Unfortunately, the front half of the spatula is extremely flexible and doesn't provide much support. It's like having a real spatula half the length, plus a tray that helps to prevent things from completely shearing off. So it's an improvement by making things just bend instead of breaking, but not what I expected at all. The quality is good, though, and still provides and overall improvement over the regular spatula I used before.

Does exactly what it's supposed to do

It's more like 4" wide, but that is a good thing for us. The style is exactly the same as the off brand turner this is replacing, and it feels a bit more solid and balanced in the hand.

"The one"

You know when you find that one perfect thing for a particular job, and you always look for it, are mad when you can't find it or it's dirty and you have to use something else, and wish you had more of it? This is that for spatulas. Speaking of that last point, I just bought my second one after a few years of wondering why we only had one. The first one still looks like new, and I can't tell the difference (after years of daily use) but I just wanted a second. I wonder when the questions of needing a third will start...

I purchased other spatulas but are too long for me. This is just the perfect size and fits my hand nicely. I am going to get another because of the quality too!

It's got all the good features. Stiff enough, non-stick safe and does not melt like nylon.

Best spatula/turner I have. A clever hybrid of steel and silicone rubber.

Colour fades

The spatula is easy to use to flip pancakes and remove fried eggs. The first time we washed the spatula after use, there was a yellow hue to the black silicone flex part after making pancakes. Used it again for eggs and after washing the yellow colour is still there. Not sure if it a defect or is normal. For the price, I would expect better from OXO but the use is good.

A good turner

Excellent turner with a silicone covered Stainless steel spade blade.The Silicone cover can take up the heat unlike the Nylon turners. Anything used will definitely wear out after a time and the Silicone cover also may tear if used roughly at which time one will need to replace it with another Silicone covered spatula.. That is inevitable with any tool. But here even if the Silicone cover tears off after repeated and long use, you can pull it off and you will still have a stainless steel turner which can be used forever. Advantage. So no need to worry. Go for it.

Probably the nicest flipper around.

It's not quite as nice as most of the tools you can get from GIR, but it does beat them in terms of profile and size of spatula-head. GIR's flipper is an overly-thick, small and clumsy tool compared to this, and while this is a bit harder to clean ,doesn't stay as cool, and can melt on the handle, it works better as a flipper to the point it overcomes its downsides. I have yet to find a better flipper on offer that is non-stick safe.

Simple but surprisingly nice

I love these OXO products but did not really expect this to be better than any other turner. After all, its such a simple thing. But surprisingly it is better. Super non stick and feels very sturdy. Apart from the hefty feeling handle, I think a big plus is that the turner is an aluminum blade covered with silicone, which seems to combine the best of both worlds. Perhaps its just a placebo effect. After all, it is just a turner ...
