softer is good for "no torcher" Method Massage

i have a lacrosse ball, My first massage device! worked great! Relief from muscle stiffness (stand up straight like strings from heaven were holding me up) I have another 5" Massage ball its very solid (works good high up @ shoulders/trapps, but is very hard: it doesn't slip @ high up places like the softer 5" ball) I NOW have THIS 5" Ball it is softer & feels nice when rolling a lot. (its soft and helps me NOT TENSE UP like the harder pin point stuff) it is softer! keep in mind, muscles can tense up if you want to Roll a lot or when you feel sensitive I use it in conjunction with my Massage Cane (a hard Point) it serves as a softer massage point to target those areas that were too painful i think it helps me stay relaxed! muscular tension is counter intuitive to muscular relaxation & release of tension I like using the NO TORTURE Method for Massage Rolling,

Great size for target areas

The size is perfect for a specific area. I bought this one for my shoulder area. It is more maneuverable compared to roller when working between the shoulders. Good for IT band and calves as well. I didn’t find the firmness enough for my shoulders, but works great for everything else. I should try the next firmness level for my shoulder. Just one of many TriggerGrid products I own and use often.

Wish it were firmer

I love the trigger point products. I wish this were firmer though. I love using a 5” foam density ball to loosen up knots and pain in my neck and shoulders. I would love if this were firmer to iron out these knots.

Looks good performs poorly

I am 180 pounds and when working with nearly full body weight on this ball it deforms pretty badly. I would recommend not buying this and buying a cheaper harder foam.

Good But I Thought it was Smaller & Firmer

It's pretty good to roll on up against a wall but I was kinda hoping it was smaller and more firm.

Does its job, but could be better

I purchased specifically for some deeper and more targeted hamstring rolling than a typical foam roller or lacrosse ball can provide due to the amount of tissue in that area. Have had the product for a week using 2-3x/day and no deformity (leg is ~17-20% of total body weight), and much happier hammies. While this is performing as I expected for my specific application, I do wish TP had some versions of this with the same hollow core construction as the Grid foam rollers that would be a little more firm and able to better handle additional applications, such as the more body-weight massaging applications others have commented about.
