Can't go without it
This is my second purchase for this size of a foam roller. My neck and the upper part of my back always gets stiff, sore and I get headaches. I used to visit my chiropractor about every other month when it was just to much to bare. Now I use the roller just about every day or when my neck is pretty sore or tensed up. Usually in the morning after my sleeping pillow got the best of me, then in the evening after work. It really helps relax my neck and the pain. I lay on my back and put the roller behind my neck and just roll my neck side to side-it feels good. I also lay on my back and roll it from top to about the middle of my back to get my upper back un-kinked. It feels SO Much better afterwards. So now I probably go to my chiropractor about twice a year when my hip gets me in trouble! This is a smooth very firm roller which is perfect for my needs and the results. I even make sure to pack it in my suitcase when I go out of town.

Great, portable sized foam roller
This is a great, portable-sized foam roller, it is in my gym bag and I take it with me every time I work out. the 4 inch diameter is just high enough that you get a good roll but doesn't take up too much room. And the 12 inch length is wide enough for me to roll my back. I can't quite roll both quads at the same time on it like I can with the standard sized foam roller but this is supposed to be travel sized and convenient which it is. I find this very useful and it doesn't take up that much room. If you need to bring a foam roller with you, I definitely recommend this.

Helps IT band trouble
This product is great. It was recommended to me by my brother; both of us have had IT band tightness, to the degree that it prevented us from running. Rolling with this foam roller really helped. It helped more than any single other exercise that the physical therapist had me do. It doesn't solve serious problems on its own, but it loosens tightness better than stretching. My husband has started using this on his tight muscles, too - back, quads, hamstrings, etc. It is the travel size, so sometimes when I'm rolling, I end up falling off the edge since it's short, but no problem, I just get back on. I even took it on Christmas vacation with me in case my knee started hurting. It's surprising how much a piece of foam can help your muscles feel better.

Small and Compact
Obviously there will always be "bigger and better" out there, but for my needs AND for the price, this was perfect. I work out 6+ times a week and am often foam rolling in order to prevent DOMS. This roller is short and will only get, say, one leg at a time, but it has kept up well and is dense enough to get the job done. If you're looking for something a bit more substantial though, this may not be the product for you.

worth having.
I like this roller. I am still figuring out how to use it and gave it 4 stars instead of 5 as it's simply a matter of personal preference that I think I would like it more if it had just a little more "give" to it. But it really does help roll out muscle stress and I use it after runs on my hips and upper back where I tend to carry extra strain.

Wonderful tool!
I am a flight attendant and am on my feet a lot- and this is the best for working out lactic acid in my legs after a long day. I also have tight hip flexors and rolling on this- releases the tightness in that area too. (You may also use it up against a wall- on your back w/your bodyweight up against it.) Ya gotta get one for travel or just for home. It's not as cumbersome as the regular full-sized original. Love that intense, deep-tissue massage it gives ya! Wahoo!

Be wary of who you purchase from!!
I purchased the roller to take abroad with me for use after my rounds of golf. The size is ideal and for 3 months using it a couple times a week for around 5-10 minutes I had no issues, then the roller started to go soft and squeegee in the middle and it lost its shape. I was advised by Amazon to contact the seller "footworks-UK" and the response I had was pathetic " it clearly states this is a travel roller , the implication is, that this is a supplementary item to your usual roller". Having had the roller for a such short time and only used it infrequently I thought the excuse they gave was pathetic and they refused to replace it. I then emailed the parent company Pro-Tec in the USA and the response could not have been different. They clearly stated that the roller should not have failed in the way it did and it should have been fit for purpose, the only thing that makes it a travel roller is its size and in all other respects it is the same as a full sized roller. They then offered to send me a replacement from the USA. Clearly they know what Customer Service means. Have nothing to do with with "footworks-UK" as they are just not interested in their customers!!

Perfect size!
I was recommended to purchase the foam roller by my pilates instructor. The size of this roller is just perfect to carry in the suitcase as I travel a lot.
