Excellent!
I absolutely love this product! It makes loading canning jars a snap. The clip that can hold the ladle on the side of a pot is awesome for not getting things messy. It holds quite a quite a bit and the pouring spouts on both sides make things so much easier! I will be ordering another!

Canning ladle of my dreams
This is the third ladle I've used for canning. First, I used my home ladle, but pouring from it was a messy affair. After eyeing this one and deciding the price at the time was too high ($21), I purchased a green canning ladle from another company for $7. It also had the little spouts on the sides and a hook to secure it to the pot, but honestly, it wasn't much better than my standard kitchen ladle. The hook was too high up on the handle, so the ladle still kind of floated in the pot, the spouts didn't do much to direct the flow of salsa, and I still had to use a second spoon to get the final cup or so of liquid out of the pot and into the jar. Enter the Prepworks Canning Scoop. This shining star is worth every single penny I paid for it ($14.99 yay!). It does exactly what it says it does. The hook is appropriately placed to keep the scoop off the bottom of the pot (even a squat dutch oven), the overall length is short and easy to handle, it has a couple options for directed pouring, and it scoops all the bits from the bottom of the pot. I feel like it's so rare to encounter a product that exceeds expectations, but this one truly does. It's probably my favorite canning tool purchase to date.

Purposely. Must have.
I tried without it in my canning tasks, saying I don’t need to buy that I will make do , save money! When I did change my mind and bought it, what a difference to my canning experience. Very purposeful.

Close as I could find, to what I wanted
Planning some large canning jobs. This ladle would be better if made of silicon. I normally toss out plastic cookware, but this is functionally what I was looking for. I paid double what this is sold for under other brand names, but those were all sold out. This should work well though, quickly and accurately, filling jars, and getting everything out of the pots.

Highly recommended as an all purpose kitchen ladle.
I buy kitchen tools after some research. Sometimes, I'm disappointed, but not this time. This ladle is designed and marketed as a canning scoop, not a ladle. This is because it is an ugly, utilitarian, and ergonomic tool for extracting every bit of soupy liquid from a pot in large, consistent portions, and pouring it without spills into a smaller vessel. It is designed for efficient but presumably unstylish cooks who have to repeat this operation with consistency and without spills for hundreds of consecutive operations. Proper ladles, on the other hand, are nearly hemispherical spoons with a right-angle turn from the bowl to the shank. They have a spout lip, but they often slop. If you use you, you can consult your visual memory and immediately access the sight of soup pouring down the underside of the lip following a pour. If you're a person who often prepares soups, stews, curries, and reductions, this is an inexpensive tool that you will likely find useful. Cons: It is ungainly and unsightly. The manufacturer could make these in Onyx, Cobalt, and Jade and add considerably to their revenue stream. Pros: It is the best ladle I've ever used for dispensing cup or bowl size portions when I'm back in the kitchen and nobody can see how ugly it is. The pointed tip extracts all but a couple tablespoons from the bottom edge of a tilted pan. The built-in pot rest bracket on the side works the way that other spoon rests never do. The silicon construction makes it indestructable, so you can clip it to the side of a boiling pot with confidence. And the huge scoop size means that you can consistently serve cup or bowl size portions with one or two scoops instead of 4 or 8. An engineering detail, but one I like, is that that when you want to serve a half-scoop, the golden mean curve of the scoop makes it intuitively obvious what half a scoop is. It's indestructible in the dishwasher. I've had mine for 6 months and put it through dozens of sani-rinses on my temperature boosted dishwasher, and it washes clean with no discoloration, warping, or brittling (like you see with Nylon) at all. It's an uber-tool for those who care about function and performance. Calphalon or Kitchen-Aid could be selling a pretty version of this tool for $35 and likely will sometime soon.

Sooooo useful
I love this spoon. After seeing it be used elsewhere I decided to get one imported. I do struggle with whether I really trust plastic from other countries. But anyway imported it and love it. So much deeper than most ladles with several pouring spouts to accommodate many ways to pour also has a hook for putting not the edge of your pot. I bought this for jams and chutneys etc but I do use it for serving up chilli and other sauce based foods. I’d like to see these readily available in England with al the reassurances on them about what it is the plastic and what is NOT in it.

Awesome for canning!
This scooping spoon worked perfectly for canning. The hook on the side of the scoop fits well and rests securely on the edge of the pot so that you can keep the spoon sterile during use, not requiring a spoon rest. It's nice and rigid, and scoops up generous portions. It worked so well that I ordered a 2nd one. Saves a lot of mess from not needing to use a spoon rest as well.

Fantastic Tool
I LOVE this ladle so much. I’ve had it a week or two and I’ve been using it for jelly making. It’s the perfect size for filling my 240ml jars in one easy scoop. I’ve also used it when making apple pie filling and it worked really well for that too. It’s one of those tools where you think maybe you should order a spare in case you do something bad to it and it becomes unavailable, like the tongs I set on fire and which are no longer sold.

Happy with this purchase
Have only used this new scoop once so far. The “bowl” of the scoop is quite large and pours nicely. Love the idea it hooks on side of pot so it eliminates a mess on counter by having to lay it down. I have tiny hands and actually found it a little big to handle. Overall I would recommend this product.
