Convenient
I love my little kettle! Easy to use...just add water, plug in(it does make some kind of "whooshing" noise but it's not loud) & when you hear it boiling, unplug! The only complaint is that there's no auto-off or warning for when it boils dry.

Decent value for the money
I bought this for $20 with the intention of using it to heat up soup. I would not recommend it for that purpose, as the 'non-stick surface' is not very non-stick. Every single time I've made soup I've had to scrape and soak to try and get the gunk off. However, while I was waiting for this to arrive, I noticed a hole had rusted through my metal water kettle. So, I've also been using it to heat up water for coffee and tea. It is so fast and does a great job. I also imagine it would be great for cooking ramen or pasta, but I haven't tried it for that yet. A downside of it though, if it's plugged in, it's on. The selector goes from Warm to Boil - there is no Off. So, I probably wouldn't recommend buying this if your a forgetful type person that might leave it plugged in. It works for me though because it boils water so fast, I just stand there and wait, and immediately unplug it when I pour the water, so I've kind of gotten in the habit of it. While it does have it's drawbacks, I consider it a 4 Star, taking the price in consideration.

A "HOT" product that does what it says it will do
I purchased this product to boil water for a cup of hot chocolate when I wanted a late night cup. I just used it for the first time and I must say, the water got hot, in fact, SCALDING HOT when set on "boil"!! I was impressed! I would say a bit hotter than what it would be if you brought water just to a boil on the stovetop. I was impressed with how hot it got along with that it only took a couple of minutes to heat. I probably won't try heating soups or any kind of food in it in an effort to keep it rather clean. I would buy this product again if something happened to this one.

The New One is Just Fine
Initially, the seller sent a used one. It had obviously be unboxed and reboxed. Amazon was great - sent a return label immediately, I got it in the mail that day, and the new NEW one arrived the next day. It was obviously new, in the same sealing the original manufacturer packed it in. It works the way I expect. We'll see if it lasts the 20 years plus my other one is going.

Great hot pot but my mistake
I bought this pot thinking I could make my long cooking oatmeal in it... Sadly it got very hot very fast but does not ever....( unless off) ... Go to simmer... Boil or nada... But it is great to make instant cook stuff.....my mistake not the cooker...

Don't get burned!!
Hot pot seems well-made should be durable. I use it strictly for hot water and it boils up quickly. Lid is attached very tightly to the pot and this is a SAFETY CONCERN. IF I attempt to remove it after heating the water this results in a struggle and easily can result in a serious burn. To avoid this I leave the lid less than tightly secured to remove it but this also can spell disaster. I still have the older Proctor Silex version (pretty blue) with a lid/pot attachment that is secure and more easily removable we. Please bring back this earlier version.

Quality travel mug
Bought for travel. In the end I found it too bulky/ large size for that purpose. However, the water heats up very quickly - much quicker and quietly than my kettle. Temp control dials work great. I ended up keeping it as a spare kettle and may use it for work or car camping or travel where luggage space is not at a premium. Quality item. As others have mentioned I also find the lid quite tight so I don't secure it fully when boiling water. I don't mind that there is no on/off switch. Easy to clean.

Wonderful travel mate.
If you like hot tea or coffee, this is a must for your next trip. It boils water quickly and can keep water warm or hot by automatic reboiling. You can also cook instant noodle with this pot. The lid got tabs and the pot got slots. When they locked in, it is hard to open the lid. After the water is boiling, be very careful to open the lid. You may burn you hands. If you don't need to open the lid immediately after boiling, wait until the pot is cooled down. If you need to open the pot while it is hot, just cover the pot with the lid loosely.

Very Good and some Important information
So I have tested this product and it works as advertised however after reading some reviews saying that there's no Off Switch and that spark comes out of the plug once you unplug to turn it off well it's not true they don't understand how to use this thing let me explain it to you.. So once you finished boiling your stuff simply turn the temperature down to the lowest setting this will turn off the element since you were boiling it at the max temp by default setting it down to the lowest temp will force it to shut off to allow it to cool and will only come back on once temp reaches below the setting which gives you 2 mins after boiling and turning it down to the lowest setting for you to safely unplug it to turn it off safely without sparks. The reason it sparks is because this device is using 1KW or 1000 Watts so in comparison a Mini Fridge would have about 150-200Watts on average so this thing is basically taking as much power as 5 mini fridges so obviously when you pull the plug on it while it's still on and drawing power sparks are going to be an issue however as I said previously by turning it down to the lowest after boiling it at max temp it will auto shut temporarily which allows you to pull the plug safely since it's not currently running at 1KW Also wait approximately 10-15 seconds after turning down to the lowest setting to ensure it turned off before you unplug I hope this review helps your purchasing decision I have been enjoying this so far very convenient. But I do need to add 1 more thing the cable length is very short so if that's an issue for you do not purchase this.
