Perfect fit

Attic Win

I installed the “dock” handrail in our attic at the top of the pull-down ladder/stairs since there was nothing to hold onto after you reached the top and it’s awesome! It really earns it’s keep when you get ready to come back down the ladder/stairs. I really think one of these handrails should be standard equipment in any attic with pull-down stairs.

Not recommended for concrete sea wall to wood ramp to dock

I thought it would be easy to mount the female half to a concrete sea wall using wedge anchors and using lag bolts to connect the Male side to a wooden ramp. The latter was a walk in the park. The female end I used 1/2" X 5" wedge anchors so I had to ream out the existing holes with a step bit. To my surprise after tightening down the female end with the wedge bolt nuts "no go" the head of the bolts stopped the two parts of the brackets from fitting together. This told me that you can only use carriage bolts or similar. Eventually I was able to fit the two together by offsetting the Male fitting to the side of the female and using the j bolt and cutter pin to secure them.

Well made and sturdy

Heavy galvanized coating. I actually cut this up into 4 rectangles because I needed “captive” washers with square holes for a trailer hitch. Worked perfectly and was considerably cheaper that getting them from trailer hitch supplier

Great product!

I installed this one on my boat house dock just ahead of my pontoon. It provides excellent assistance for on and off traffic. I used 1 1/2” marine galvanized 1/2” lag bolts. It’s very sturdy!
