Worked great
Used recently on a 50k trail run in snowy, ice and mud conditions. Worked great in keeping depris out of my shoes and feet stayed dry all day.

Not quite perfect but still a must have!
I'm a professional dog hiker and I am on trail every M-F morning, rain, snow or shine! I have some heavy duty water proof leg gaiters for deep snow, but now that it's spring and summer I needed something lighter that would help keep the rocks and trail debris as well as mud out of my shoes. I use these pretty much every day! Even though that have some significant problems, they're still better than any similar products that I've tried, so I continue to use them. First, if you have trail running shoes like mine (Hoka One One Speed Goat) with thick soles or without an indent on the bottom of the shoe where the sole is, you'll definitely need a larger size than you think you should. I really wish they chose a different method or rather an additional method of securing the gaiters around your ankle/shoe besides just velcro. The velcro doesn't line up nicely and if they get really wet and muddy have a hard time staying securely fastened. Also, these are meant for those who have shoes that are ankle high and not boots or mid level shoes (like I have). There is a built ankle pad on each side that will just feel kinda bulky and unnecessary if you have a shoe or boot higher than the lowest profile shoe. That being said, they definitely do a great job of keeping the debris out! Every time I don't think I'll need them and don't wear them I end up kicking myself for not doing so. I have looked and looked and haven't found anything that servers my needs better, and they've held up to some seriously heavy use and washing/drying and are still going strong, so they deserve 4 stars for that in spite of the issues. I can definitely recommend especially for low profile trail running shoes. And yes, I paid full price for these.

Great gaiter with a few issues
I’ve had two pairs and both have the same issues. For starters, the sizing is off. I’m 6’3” 185lbs and wear a size 13/14 shoe and have to use a size medium of the gaiter. If I use a large, the Velcro will not line up correctly and I cannot secure it around my ankle. The large is made for a very large ankle. The worst part, though, is the durability of the strap. Both pairs have had the strap split on me. I do OCR and these hold up for 4-5 races before I see them split. So, maybe a couple months before it happens. I don’t know how long the split strap will hold on before it actually breaks in half and no longer will connect beneath the show. Another issue is that thick mud will pull on the bottom strap enough that it will come out from beneath the shoe and just sit on the back of the shoe. I actually use another Velcro strap around the top of the gaiter to secure the top in place to keep the bottom strap from loosening up and coming off. Other than those issues, it’s a good gaiter. Improvements I would recommend are these: 1. another Velcro strap around the top to keep the gaiter in place, and 2. A clip or something at the bottom front of the gaiter that can connect to the laces of the shoes to keep the front of the gaiter connected to the shoe to cover the gap between the top of the laces and the gaiter, and 3. A more durable strap.

I returned these for Altra gaiters....the Solomons took more time to put on and adjust vs the Altras. The Altra gaiters seem like they will dry quicker than the thicker Solomons. The Solomons weren't bad, the Altras were better IMO and cheaper.

Good...but not perfect for (1) small ankles or (2) SpeedCross/SpikeCross
These get the job done in snow, but are frustrating in two ways. First, if you have thin ankles, it's tough to get these tight enough. Second, inexplicably, they do not fit well with the very Salomon shoes that you're most likely to want to wear in the conditions when you'd want gaiters - the SpeedCross and SpikeCross. I've worn them several times now with the SpikeCross (basically SpeedCross with spikes in the treads), and they work, but don't really fit well. The strap on the bottom of the gaiters is at the wrong angle for these shoes.

Size 12 -1/2 boot over ankle bought (high) (large) extremly pleased with product.
These work really well at closing my pants at top of half boot to keep out debree and cover laces. Wish they were cheaper. But they are Solomon and built correct and tough. I bought the second set so when the first ever do wear out I'll have a spare. Very well engineered and crafted. But i found tricky to fit over shoe correctly. Once i found The little solomen tag on each is labeled left or right, than put correct side out. they only fit correctly one way. little tricky.

Work great.
Ordered these because I kept getting trail dirt/stones/sticks in my boots. They are easy to use and keep the junk out of my boots. I was right on the Small/Medium size border so ordered up to Medium and glad I did as they fit well.

Salomon High Trail Gaiters
I bought these for trail running to replace the shorter versions I lost in a Spartan.. I have used these on my Merrell Moabs and they work great for hiking. On my Merrell trail runners, though they tend to leave a small gap allowing a bit of mud to get in once in awhile, but definitely better than without. Even thought they're made for hikers, they are lightweight and non-cumbersome. The only issue I have with them is the Velcro. They're sewn on in a weird way to allow the 3-D shape around the ankle, but it is tricky to align well. This is how I lost my original pair. I'll be buying the smaller versions again.

Keep sand out
Used these for two weeks hiking and touring in sandy Namibia including hiking the Soususflei sand dunes and Fish River Canyon. Brilliant, no sand in shoes, no blisters! Very easy to use on low Salomon hiking shoes. The under heel strap chaffed a bit on the very sharp rocks in the boulder fields but not badly.

Might be ok for some, I'm happier without them!
Stopped using these fairly soon after buying them to be honest. They work ok, but gaiters fit a very limited range of trail running shoes and IMO solve an issue that is largely a non issue, at least for me. Thought I would try them out as much out of interest as anything, but the fit wasn't great around my ankle even for the right shoe size (maybe I have narrow ankles, who know?). The rubber around the bottom of the shoe shifted too easily and got worn very quickly when it did as it was directly against the ground. Also the velcro just rubbed and tended cut my leg after even a pretty short run. I'm sure these are great for some people, I'm happy to just get some bits in my trail shoes!

Comfy to wear and sturdy enough to protect my ankle bones on rocks
Comfy to wear and sturdy enough to protect my ankle bones on rocks. I had to cut the ‘stirrup’ bit down so it would fit my saucony trail shoes - I just forgot I was wearing them - says it all.
